Lil B’s prime run was 2010 through early 2014. When the 60+ tracks mixtapes started coming out, it was too much filler vs running down the excellent songs of that month’s or week’s new Lil B mixtape. That being said, stuff like Platinum Flame is actually surprisingly great despite how “late” it is into his career.

this is kind of a stupid thing to say about a rapper but it's very funny how 05 gently caress em has both a track talking about loving and respecting everyone and another one about knocking a bitch out for asking for child support. the man is hard to pin down if you only know him by his music. also, frankly, he is the god of rap and the rawest rapper alive. i don't think anyone else comes close to his output and variety of styles.

Honestly, chronologically is the best way to absorb Lil b. You see the evolution and at times, stagnation, but there’s usually a few bangers on a given tape until the post-fire hiatus. Then it becomes kind of unmanageable w the amount of tracks in a given tape. Crime Fetish and Trapped in BasedWorld are two great tapes.
