The famous bank robbery in Heat was filmed like this, and miraculously caught accurate sound, and everyone had to shout their dialogue over it. You have no conception of how incredibly loud a gun going off inside the cab of a vehicle is until you've heard it. Firing an automatic inside would be insane, it hurts just watching that part.
