In honor of Father's Day, let us share songs from overrated bands and artists that we actually really love. To start, I have Take It to the Limit by Eagles. It's just a great song, especially when you're driving alone at night. Since the band or the company who owns the music hates YouTube I guess, here's a live version instead of the studio version.

I can never quite place how I feel about Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl is an incredibly talented musician but I never connected with the band too much even though I really like him individually. I love Pat Smear too

Jim Morrison was kind of a hack and definitely overrated, but i grew up listening to the Doors because of my dad, and i still like them. he taught me to play this one on piano

ray manzarak and robbie krieger were both excellent musicians. john densmore was a middling drummer but he did the job. the only real problem with them is jim, which is of course a pretty big problem, but imo a lot of the instrumental work still holds up

I still put on Green Day's Dookie album more often than I probably should. As a 90's teen and a lovely guitar player, I still like em. Nimrod was great too.

Speaking of Van Morrison, I really really REALLY love the live version of Caravan that he did with The Band at The Last Waltz. Bob Dylan is overrated, and therefore so is The Band, so it still fits the topic :colbert:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44wDwMQVqCc

In my opinion, this is one of THE greatest rock n' roll performances of all time, it exemplifies everything great and fantastic about the genre.

Another The Band song I love is Acadian Driftwood, which is where I learned that the people in New Orleans known as the Cajuns were originally from Canada!

It's not even close, but this doesn't fit the spirit of this page as it's not over-rated. It's correctly rated, or possibly even under-rated.

All of the 90's music is seriously just next level poo poo. There's a magic in that music that simply doesn't exist anymore. It's like the world has sucked the happiness and passion out of everyone so artists can't put it in their music anymore.

I hate this opinion, good music is released all the time, you're just blinded by nostalgia for a specific small span of years

Yeah sorry Jelly there's plenty of good music released since the 90s. I can understand the sentiment but that's a poisoned thought process

I don't often listen to pop music, but lately I've been digging the poo poo out of Dua Lipa's album Future Nostalgia and I have no idea why.

Semantically, "you" is both singular and plural, though syntactically it is always plural. It always takes a verb form that originally marked the word as plural.

Also, there is no plural when the context is an argument with an individual rather than a group. Somfin shouldn't put words in my mouth.

Strong Karen energy, yeah. Song still is catchy though

My poo poo is Supermassive Black Hole by Muse. Simple song with a smooth driving bassline. Song slaps, not even being in the Twilight movies could ruin it (or Muse in general) for me

not underrated, but since people are just pure nostalgia posting... this is one of my favorite songs from high school that still holds up today. this whole album does. i feel like everything they did after this is good but very much "of its era" if that makes sense, but badmotofinger is timeless

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgqLAlFKtXA

and speaking of timeless, its also just as good as it always was, and i still listen to it at least once every couple weeks
