Did they change the criteria for 'platinum?' A quick google search says platinum is 1 million copies for an album or 2 million for a single.
No one buys records anymore, so that has to include streams, right? I could see a couple of his songs hitting 2 million streams. I'm sure it's been included in some 'new poo poo' playlists on Spotify or Apple.
150 streams = one certification unit. That's 300,000,000 streams to be multi-platinum.
