FFXIV is a bad game, imo don’t play it Like every time the screen fades to black to signal the next overlong cutscene my heart sinks in my and I have to stifle a sigh I’m having fun though

Allow me to reiterate, my #1 problem with FF fourteen is that 90% of quest content, mandatory and optional both, has you travel between npcs. Where the only gameplay decision you're making is, Wheres the best spot to pop Sprint to maximize its uptime

When I was a young gamer, unable to decide whether to level up my attack stat or my defence stat, my gamer friend put it thusly: “would you rather have a normal amount of health but defeat enemies in one hit, or deal a normal amount of damage but be invincible”, and to this day I don’t know the correct answer

Tbf setting your battle options to “set” instead of “switch” is a slight difficulty increase that’s built into the game, but... Idk, in case anyone was curious, here are some of the rules to the run I did of Pokémon Sword earlier this year, I thought they were quite good: - you can only catch the first individual Pokémon you encounter in an area (close your eyes and run into the grass) - can’t level a ‘mon past the level of the next gym leader’s ‘mon, once they reach it you have to put them away until you actually reach the gym - start with two slots for your ‘mons, get one extra per gym completed - permadeath ofc the hardest part is having the willpower to not reset when you gently caress up and lose your beloved fire bunny, Hasty Lopez

Healing is so stressful for me, idk how you guys do it. Seeing a party member’s hp drop, I hit them with a heal... or try to. Turns out they were out of range and my heal didn’t go off. And I didn’t notice, until it’s too late. They die, and I die of embarrassment My favourite part of playing as a white mage was running up to groups of enemies and Holying them down. Yep my favourite part was dpsing
