i don't follow wrestling social media at all but ive got a mutual who hates ospreay and says what he's doing "isn't wrestling." my housemate is a big wrestling guy and he always gives me a shout when ospreay is on new japan or aew because that dude is so clean it makes me angry that said, 1) marcus alexander "buff" bagwell and that's it

This is kind of a fun thought experiment actually. How many male wrestlers can I name that I would definitely rather watch than Will Ospreay today. So I'm not going to say Tomohiro Ishii because as much as I love him, 2022 Ishii has finally hit a bump in the road & has started to slow down & it's depressing.
Ospreay is in this position where he is great to watch but he's not quite in my top tier. About on a par with people like Toshiyuki Sakuda, Bandido, Kenny Omega, T-Hawk, Shotaro Ashino, Kaito Kiyomiya, Shun Skywalker, Speedball Mike Bailey, Claudio Castagnoli, Hijo del Vikingo, elite guys. Certainly for guys who wrestle like Will Ospreay there's no one better from where I stand. About the worst thing I can say is he's not wrestled so much in Japan this year so I've not seen as much of his best work (yet. I'm trying to catch up)

to be honest. i don't think of wrestlers as being better than each other very much. there is a hierarchy if you pull out 'kenny omega' and 'tall man' and compare them directly. but to me it comes across more like a whole lot of tiers. many tiers, not just a few. like scales on a snake. and i can only really tell the difference if somebody is more than 1 or sometimes even more than 2 tiers below another person. and at that point it seems silly to even have to say anything about it. we can all see. matches are what i crave. any who, i hope will ospreay doesn't become the ace of aew or anything like that. he's good enough that they could try to do that in a few years and i don't like the sound of that. but if he comes in for matches from time to time then aew isn't 'good person land' so it doesn't seem too different. i apologize for what i've done. if anyone wants to cuss or discuss, well, feel free. i believe i've said it before somewhere along the line over the past 10 years but matches are what i crave.

I mean, the greatest match of all time was wrestled 11 years ago by Antonio Honda and Dick Togo, and as we all know, Honda is now a top babyface who tells stories about Gon the Little Fox, and Dick Togo is now one of the most boring parts of the NJPW roster, so you know, swings and roundabouts lmao
