I was listening to They Might Be Giants and I was wondering if Don't Let's Start had a music video. Turns out it does and I was somewhat surprised, having never seen how they looked, that the singer looks nothing like I expected. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAmFTmCs3IY In fact, I had actually pictured him looking somewhat like the guitarist in this video. Kind of nerdy. I don't know why but I always have kind of a picture in my head of how a singer must look based on only their voice. It's usually wrong. Anybody else do this? Or notice that someone doesn't look like they would sound like they do?

Some years back I was at a corporate event and they had hired Train to play. Never paid the band the least bit of attention but I know some of their songs from the radio and I'd always pictured some kind of laid back folk pop sort of affair, like, guy in a denim jacket on a stool with a guitar sort of a deal. I poke my head into the concert out of curiosity and some 50 year old tweaker in a vaguely punk-ish tshirt and jacket getup is running back and forth across the stage hopping around like a madman, impressive energy but just wildly mismatched with the music they were playing.

Not so much how they looked, but saw Crobot and dudes energy was like a coked up weasel. On stage he seemed like he was decently built and probably 6'+. Met him after and he was tiny. Stage presence works wonders.
