You could argue the first film is better, and it does have a better cast, though no songs by Julie Andrews. It's not nearly as funny. Shot in the Dark is fine but isn't as good as #1 or as funny as Strikes. Return has a lot of fun bits but nothing as good as the 3 or 4 best scenes in strikes. Everything after is drek. So yeah. Pink Panther Strikes Again. Best PP film. Deal with it.

Then Sellers died and they made Trail and then I think Son of with the guy from Life is Beautiful and then the Steve Martin films. I may be missing one. The first 5 go 4 > 1 > 2 > 3 > 5.
