I got my brother so mad at NCAA Football on SNES that he said he wished I wasn't born and then broke my controller lol Also, not sure if it counts - Aside from burger time, my mom didn't pay much attention to the games I played but one day she suddenly started watching me play CS 1.5.I get excited showing her the ins and outs of play, how all the buy rounds work, what happens in certain situations, terminology on certain maps and such. She's nodding along, actually interested, and I figure I'm gonna do my best to show off and get some kills like I did earlier. Instead I round a corner on dust2, get immediately domed by a hacker with an awp who is just spinning in place with garbled nonsense over his mic at full blast. On top of that, it was one of those servers with a million plugins, so the entire screen was filled with text proudly announcing that "YOU WERE KILLED BY MICROPENIS, MICROPENIS HAS 100HP LEFT, MICROPENIS KILLED YOU WITH: AWP, 1 HIT, 110 DMG FROM: MICROPENIS etc etc" in green and other flashing colors Her: ....who is micropenis Me: *annoyed* I don't know...just some guy She never asked me about the game again

housemate had wanted to try playing dark souls for ages after seeing me play them and talk about them. I'd platted all the games by this point. Spent an afternoon watching him get to and finally beat the bell gargoyles. He asked if he could watch me play from the start and see the difference in skill. I'd also just finished a play through of DS so everything was fresh. Died to the Asylum Demon. For some reason it aggored before I even went into the mist and I couldn't plunge attack it because it was stuck in the wall under the platform. Landed and stunned for like 75% of my HP and got owned instantly.

i lost a 1 on 1 race in need for speed most wanted by .10 of a second, which i had been trying to beat for hours. on a sure win the opposing car just rubber-banded at 1000mph. i took the disc out and took it to gamestop to trade it in for another game

my parents wouldnt let me get a 360 in middle school but i tried to be cool and butt into a convo about Halo during a Boy Scout camping trip, except i knew the bare minimum about the game so my lie of doing a 360 in a Warthog and landing on three dudes at once wasn't very convincing

there was some mandatory mahjong match in one of the yakuza games, and it came with this exhaustive tutorial that i pored over and really spent my time trying to understand and spent like 30 minutes looking over before starting the match and having it auto resolve immediately because I had some cheat item that just makes me win and I never tried it again as a result.

i'd tried mahjong once in real life and thought it was kick rear end, so i was insanely hyped when yakuza zero came out not only because it's a yakuza game, but because of the mahjong. i read the instructions briefly when i unlocked it (knew all that poo poo) and proceeded to kick rear end at mahjong. so where's the gaming defeat? to this day, i've not completed yakuza zero, because whenever i play it i spend 10 minutes on the game and the rest playing mahjong.

An opponent had a Follow Me Clefable to protect their Gyarados and they played me like a drat fiddle, stalled out my trick room and made me look foolish in the process. That I haven't touched pvp Pokemon in a long time is coincidence., I swear.
