Yeah well he turned in a world historically terrible managerial performance this year. Glad he got a ring. After this year I do not need him mismanaging my team anymore. Both things can be true at once without contradiction.

I'm surprised they allow anyone from the AL Central into the playoffs anymore. It seems like it should just consist of the best 3 AL East teams vs the 3 best AL West teams.

Considering how the Twins won the season series against the Astros and the Rangers and have been competitive vs everyone but the Rays, Os, and the franchise currently playing its trade in Cobb County, nah. The AL Central sucks for sure, but the team that wins it is usually at least competent, if not outright good.

The Tigers are going to finish with a better record against the rest of the AL Central than the Twins, and would be probably be still be in the division race if not for a truly horrendous record against the AL East. And having typed that I see it actually reinforces your point :negative:

Hey, the Twins can still get a wild card bye as long as Texas and Seattle lose today, Houston loses at least one game to Arizona, and Seattle takes 3 of 4 from Texas in the final series! And if 2009 taught me anything, it's that very specific horseshit scenarios do happen.

Above .500 was what I was hoping for and that's what I got. Their run differential was much better than I expected, so there's a lot of hope for next season provided they do two things:

  • 1. Get some reliable bullpen arms
  • 2. Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger Sign Bellinger

It'll be nice for the young guys to get an entire season under their belts next year. I hope PCA, Canario, and Mervis all make the opening day roster. Jordan Wicks seems very promising. Heyward will finally be off the books, but the Cubs will still owe Tucker Barnhart and Trey Mancini over $10 million next year.

Cubs :(

I think this year if anything showed why you don't want to rely on just a bunch of young guys getting called up without much a of a backup plan. Mervis obviously struggled but even their September call ups like PCA did not look ready at the plate. Good to get them some experience and hopefully next year they can make the call up permanently but as we saw with Morel late last year there is an adjustment period guys have to go thru. Happy to see Morel make strides in striking out less, I hope he can be an every day guy next year cause he's really fun to watch and clearly has a lot of talent.

Also sign Bellinger and Ohtani and maybe get an actual legit closer.

Niwrad

Canario looked good when given a chance. PCA needs another year in AAA.

I guess the Cubs were better than expected but they'll likely lose their best player so I'm not sure if there is going to be a ton of improvement they can make in the offseason.

You cannot make the argument that this offense will be fine without Belli. He led the team in HR, BA, RBI, SLG, and OPS. He was 2nd on the team in hits, runs, and SB. He is 100% necessary to keep this offense going.
