A few of my picks have already been posted, so I'll just say what I like about 'em: Mob Psycho 100 ED 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8Yjk7KedVg Paint-on-glass animation. Made exactly like it sounds. Artist is Miyo Sato. Mob Psycho 100 OP 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epZaT8B31-g References to and use of multiple animation techniques! Zoetrope, barrier grid, and rotoscope! Beastars OP 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgo9dJB_icw Stop motion! Frieren: Beyond Journey's End ED 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pmd0kt3FOs Collage animation! Chainsaw Man E05 ED https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymQ3wEIq84Y Lots of examples of looping walk cycles, especially notable for multiple horse animations. Not only are horses known as animator bane (animators clearly flexing here), but also references the Muybridge race horse, one of the pillars of film creation. Chainsaw Man E09 ED https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giJKMtRnD20 Excellent demonstration of straight-ahead animation. Really, you're not going to go wrong selecting anything Chainsaw Man because they're all insanely unique and marvelous examples of animation technique and style. Pick your favorite and unpack! Ranking of Kings OP 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWZAH5w8jkQ Honestly, just my favorite OP ever. Uhhh, you can talk about the insane use of light/shadow, emulation of first-person perspective, that absolute flex of a lantern animation (and you can further refer to the cage animation in Disney's Pinocchio), and the pros of simple, clear character design. RoK is a powerhouse for excellent character design! Castlevania OP 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy_FWdbnvM0 I'm counting this because Spencer Wan has worked on numerous "authentic" anime, but fun fact!: The sketchy straight-ahead sequence was his first pass. Odd Taxi OP 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jX-Ry1VxeDQ Wholly unique! Entirely shape-driven with a jittery liveliness and watercolor and marker texturing. Some very good hold examples and use of limited animation.
