Copy the save files to different folders? I mean old DOS games were a bitch when you had to swap disks but you can play them now in DOSBox with the A: folder open and your backups' folder to swap stuff around in an instant. Should work for Wasteland (haven't tried it though).

Or just put the whole thing under version control :v:

Then you can even run multiple parallel games in different branches! It's like having multiple save slots!

Are there any good LP's of the original Wasteland? I've done some research and looked at some video but I still have no idea what the hell is going on in the game. I've already dropped 30$ on the kickstarter but I wanna know what the game's going to be based on. I don't rally get why the original has such rave reviews because it looks completely mediocre from what I've seen but I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong. :)

As I understand it, Wasteland basically kicked off the WRPG genre as we know it. Ultima beat them to it, but not by much, and Wasteland was much more polished and accessible.

Between the graphics, the UI, higher standards for writing in RPGs, and whatnot, it hasn't aged as gracefully as something simpler like Doom, but at the time it blew everyone out of the water and pretty much founded a genre.

This is all super-awesome news. Electronic Arts is apparently trying to rebuild their corporate image through continuing their decades-long good relationship with Wasteland fans.

I was going to point out that Pool of Radiance came out in 1988 like Wasteland did and may have been out first, but it doesn't matter because Bard's Tale came out in 1985. :eng101:

I wear belts, I like Wasteland, so I am pro belt-buckle and would certainly buy one. Missed out on the shirt so a chance not to miss out on something cool...

And yeesh, poor Ultima... Ah well, I can remember 4,5, and the 7s fondly at least. Wasn't a huge fan of 6 for some reason. And I only played 1-3 briefly.

And speaking of Bard's Tale (someone did, I am pretty sure of it!), did inExile ever get their Android version released of the newer one that was supposed to come with the originals?

That seems like enough people. Since most of you are international, how about this: I take your $20 for the buckles right before I place the order, then when I am ready to ship I'll take a separate payment for shipping. It'll be more fair that way.

I'll let the guy know I'm ready to see a prototype.

You should just do a Kickstarter for it. Set the lowest tier so that it equals how much each one will cost and ask people to add however much for shipping to their location. Set the Kickstarter goal at cost per buckle x how many people you need to buy one for them to each cost the price you set it at (I think you said 20 people at $20 per buckle, so $400 goal). Kickstarter can be used for big budget things like W2 but also for little projects like this :)

I wonder if they have an option to make a Kickstarter private so that it can only be seen by people with the link.

Ha, you know most people seem to agree with you. And don't get me wrong, it blew me away the first time I saw it. But looking back I guess I see 7 as a more refined version of that system. And 4 and 5 had plots that interested me more.

Anyway, back in April Brian Fargo tweeted that the iPhone Bard's Tale game would be coming to android "in a few weeks" with the old games as well. Guess Wasteland 2 is distracting them from that effort. And you know what? I think I can live with that! Screenshot due soon as well, that should be interesting.

AFAIK, the longest delivery was a shirt that I guess fell in between the seats of the pontoon boat the Aussie mailman was using, and it took two weeks.

The desert ranger star is based of the old U.S. Marshall/Texas Ranger tin star. Admittedly they're pretty boring looking so I can't blame you for wanting to spice it up. Sorry to nitpick, but it was bugging me a little for some reason. Although, the irony of it does seem rather fitting.

Yeah, that was actually the problem with it: I told him I wanted a faceted star, and gave him a 2D drawing of what that would look like. I didn't know I needed to request it to be sculpted in 3D. The next proof should be pretty spot on.

And that picture was from a thing Brian Fargo posted in his twitter a couple days ago, there were a poo poo load of spooky drawings like it: http://www.behance.net/gallery/WASTELAND-CHILDREN-OF-THE-EVOLUTION/99613#.UAOJlkPREXM.twitter
