In Skyrim, you break the economy if you enchant Banish to weapons. Vendors go nuts for Banish and pay exorbitant amounts. Is there an exploit like that in FNV?

I have a problem I'm hoping someone knows how to fix! So I'm doing my Independent Vegas run and I'm at the Ultra-Luxe. I talked to Mortimer first and passed his speech check, thinking that this would allow me to circumvent most of the steps of the "good" path(I mean why wouldn't it!) So I get down there and Chef Philippe isn't there, which prevents me from moving on in the quest. I get Ted out and return him to dad anyway, but that apparently locks me right into the Evil quest path where I have to kill that dude. So I used console commands to reset the entire quest and I'm up to the right step. Unfortunately, Ted Gunderson is sitting stupidly next to his dad and just insults me when I try to talk to him. Like a jerk. Is there a way to reset Ted back to his place in the basement so he talks to me again, or do I just have to murder everyone in the Ultra-Luxe(No big loss)

They don't just bomb-collar any random Joe who pokes their nose in. (Disclaimer- I've never gotten in via murderous intent myself, so I don't know how they explain themselves at all.)

Can't you lockpick that door? I seem to remember just waltzing in the first time and I wasn't working with Mr. House, never met Veronica, and hadn't been to any of the Brotherhood corpses. Still, while I wanted the BOS to be friends with everybody, this chapter clearly couldn't. When Mr. House asks you to do it, he gives you a spot-on description of them and how they're bound to try and gently caress with his poo poo. Sure enough, when I go into the Hidden Valley bunker, every single NPC that walks by me says "Boy that Mr. House sure has some cool poo poo, we should go pillage the gently caress out of him really soon!" I like the Brotherhood of Steel as a whole but there's no reason individual chapters couldn't be dicks and die off. I prefer the NV interpretation over FO3s anyway.

Or teach ED-E to repair weapons in LR DLC. Loot all enemy weapons and have him repair them all for free before you sell them for phat lewtz.

Repair kits are pretty amazing even when you're not getting them for free. You only need something like repair 50 and some scrap items you find all over the place to make them, and they add way more than their value to the sell price of a valuable weapon. The other popular way to make money is to get your luck to 7 and keep making money at all the casinos until they throw you out

1.) Hit level 14, get Jury Rigging 2.) Turn tier-1 weapons into tier-5 weapons, fully repaired. If you are hurting for low-level high-quality weapons, hit up the Gun Runners, or use Throwing Spears-->Pool Cues.

Talk to the woman at the Gourmand, find out about the private detective, find Mortimer, get the room key, go up, find the body, fight the guys, go to the steam room, talk to that guy, then you can go to the kitchen and find Philippe. It's the talk in the steam room that lets you go find Philippe.

I guess I wasn't supposed to side with Hardin because he's lazy and doesn't do his own footwork or something? quote:I had this same problem, so if you can reset to the start of the quest entirely, it's a real easy quest to do. This all does remind me of one of the things that annoyed me about New Vegas. It's impossible to keep a secret because of that ever present 'spies' handwave. Want to work for Caesar, but keep it on the down low so you remain on NCR's good side? Nope, NCR has invisible spies and they know what you're doing. Want to work for the NCR but keep the Caesar from marking you for death? Nope, he has some drat good invisible spies too! Even if you leave absolutely no witnesses alive to report that you just butchered that random Legion guy over by Primm, Caesar magically knows, because spies.

The OP mentions not doing OWB at a high level due to level scaling issues. Define 'high level'? I just finished HH after spending some time in New Vegas and I'm almost level 20. The DLC seem good and all, but as this is my first run through I'm more interested in the main quest and the Mojave.

The best ways to make money I've found: have a luck of 8 or higher, play blackjack, and break the bank easily. Also cartoons of cigarettes sell for 40 caps each and you can find tons of them in Lucky 38.

What really annoys me is how early the cutoff point is. Oh, you don't want to wipe out the BoS? Well, you're stuck with Yes Man then because you did one too many missions for House! No NCR for you! That really burned me on my first playthrough, because you can't pull off the alliance anymore. It just seemed really arbitrary that doing one extra mission on the Strip cut me off from the other factions. I'm also considering the Sawyer mod for my next playthrough.
