Sometimes when I'm out there and I'm short on ideas, I see a bike and it just looks beautiful to me. I can't resist, I take the shot. I think if you were to forget every picture I've taken of bicycles and look at them individually, they're good shots. Forget that I've done a whole bunch of bikes. And my newer ones are better. Pentax 6x7 Adventures Roll #2 - The Kraken Wakes in the Deep and Hits the Snooze Button Last Friday my friends tolerated me, my lights, and my massive honking 6x7. I shot a 35mm roll that wound up being fairly unexceptional, a roll of FP4+ and a roll of Fujicolor something something that I haven't had developed yet. The three big lessons learned: • Watch my tilt when hand-holding the camera. It's so much bulkier than my A1 that it's really, really easy to unconsciously favor the left side putting everything at mild-to-severe tilt. • Seated people are easier to focus on, and let me use the waist level finder (I tried gaffer tape on the VF, but I still can't see the edges of the frame w/ my glasses on.) • That DoF is narrower than I suspected, especially at that distance with that lens. I ran it through the calculator last night just to get the numbers in my head and to get 6" of DoF I need to be shooting at f/13.3. I will need more light. Here's a mediocre scan of the best shot from the roll of FP4+  Rupin by Lemon Frosted, on Flickr It's cropped for 5x7 because I was correcting the tilt problem and because 5x7 is what I normally print on (I like having a wall full of many photos, instead of one with just a few 8x10's.)

I've seen one in use in a studio - the guy had the camera on a large wheeled camera rig, with 20' Firewire cables going to his Power Mac G4, which was on a wheeled desk. Even the possibility of using a laptop is questionable - Googling tells me Macbooks can't all provide enough power on the Firewire port to operate the H20.

You can get an adapter for a view camera that allows you to slide the back around the frame but those only work in one plane I think their around $150. You'd also have to use Capture One to take the photos. Really, the sensor is smaller than 6x4.5 frame, I think 4x4 so unless you're shooting still-lifes or really need to Scheimpflug it up, there aren't too many advantages to having one.

Anyway don't give up on a developer/film combination just because you liked the grain you got when you had a lab process a notably grain-free film for you

I'm having frame spacing problems on my Pentacon Six TL, is there a way I can fix this myself (other than buying a Hasselblad 500cm) or does it tend to be a job for a repair shop? Pretty sure it's a problem with the film advance mechanism rather than my loading.

Duck tape some backing tape to the leader of the roll you're shooting. 5-10cm should be sufficient. I do this for my old folders who have frame spacing problems. But with those folders these problems are due to the old films being thicker and thus the mechanism being tuned for that thickness. I doubt that's the problem with your camera, but it might help anyway.
