Another "I need my enforcer friend to ace that ASAP" skill. I would pay good money to watch shields get punched out of second story windows. Then more money for some flavor chatter from bain about how they all fell on their shields and got spinal injuries.

Shield Punching is pretty cathartic, and with the enforcer armor you can just run up to him while he is shooting you to melee him to death, or just shoot him with your shotgun. And yeah, carbon blade is still worthless unfortunately. Just ace the basic saw skill for the extra blade.

On another note, I really wish there were more jobs like framing frame, where you are doing more than just guarding drugs or sawing/drilling something open to steal what is inside. I mean, there is big oil but it doesn't seem quite as well put together, and no one really wants to play it. It is too bad that the best way to play it is have 1 or 2 guys stealth, with everyone else on camera, I hope they find a way for stealth to involve the entire group more, or allow for stealth to take place alongside fighting.

Huh? Aced Berserker gives you more damage with ranged weapons inversely proportional to your level of health.

I mean, if you're specced for stealth then you can stealth. Few things are more awesome than a bunch of dudes in suits teaming up to sweep a building in no time. If you aren't specced for stealth then you can still spot enemies through windows or move in behind the stealth crew and start doing work like taking paintings or whatever.

The best way to stealth is to have 4 Masterminds working simultaneously. It's also prone to failure because most people can't coordinate that well, hence two people on the camera feed. But if you want your stealth runs to be significantly shorter and way more entertaining to the group as a whole, that's the way to go.

H2SO4 gets it. Stealth runs with two players aren't optimal. They're just more common because you can't expect every player in your group to have Smooth Talker and know what to do in a stealth run.

No, I really am thinking of Aced Berserker. It works on the saw. Get yourself to ~30% health and you one-tap anything in the game, locks and enemies both. It's so strong that you'll never need Aced Portable Saw or any level of Carbon Blade. Save those points for ammo bag skills.

You're right that Bullet Storm doesn't work on the saw, though.

I had kinda hoped that with the 7 Day heist UI there would be like the mother of all (bank) heists in the game with several "prep" stages with variable outcomes.

Like, scoping the place out, Stealing Blue-Prints, invading the Manager's home to steal/copy a pass card, securing all the assets you want (extra explosives, planks, smuggling the stuff into the bank) etc, before the big hit.

Get enough assets in place right without triggering a bunch of Feds to come crashing down on you before the heist and you can pull off the whole thing flawlessly.

*Then* it all turns into Heat Street as the escape sequence :allears:

I was very sad when I realized there wasn't any heist longer than three days, and basically all of them are stand-alone heists where you maybe transport some bags between the two :saddowns:

I'm really getting annoyed with the BS justifications for blowing stealth. Just ran a jewelery store where I took out the guards round back, shot the side window with silenced pistol (doesn't alert anyone unless they're in the room) and got everyone in the store down. One guy in the street got curious so I dropped an ECM in the bank and ran out to the street and got everyone down. Popped the guy across the street who was on the phone but hadn't alerted yet, got everyone else down and started tying them up.

As soon as I tied the last guy in the street, the alarm went off and the reason given was "A civilian heard a window break and called the police." One window was broken, probably a full two minutes before that point. Hadn't started looting yet.

I'm doing dry runs to improve my stealth game, but without constructive feedback it's drat near futile. They really should show you after the fact who called the cops. Something like a flashback or killcam like TF2/CoD/whatever. If the worry is that people will somehow mold themselves into perfect criminals too quickly or something, make it only happen if you complete the heist successfully.

The problem is that there's like 5 feedback messages for what, 15 possible ways you can blow stealth? I haven't seen the broken window one being misleadingly used yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if it falls under that.

That and the AI is pretty bad about this. In Bank Heist for instance, there should be an animation for the tellers pressing the panic button and a feedback message to go along with it; As it is, there is neither. You pretty much only figure out that's happening through trial and error.

I think the broken window is a cover-all alert that applies to any time a civilian notices a broken window, whether they heard it as it went down or they were walking down an alley to get a hooker and saw it.

I know there's a delay bug at the moment, too, though, so you might've gotten that. An alert gets sent off but the game doesn't react to it for--surprise--about a full two minutes.

Just getting to the end of Heat now; a whole 7 day heist based on this movie would be amazing.

Even if the first day or two were smaller stuff like the armored car job to set the story, the last half of the week could go for the set up of the final day. I'd pay a couple bucks for a DLC mission if they added multiple branching possibilities beyond the usual "either the cops expect you or don't". Get away clean on the first few days and you get the quieter path through your normal contacts, blow something earlier and have to go down a rougher path with some riskier acquisitions to get the job done.

Hell if it was possible to completely miss the last day because you spent 6 days gunning down every single cop in the city while painting "WE'RE ROBBING THE BANK ON SUNDAY" in their blood, I would be OK with that if it had a reasonable threshold.

Age of the Atomic Mom

Maybe for the 7 Day heists they could give the players the option to end on day 4-6 for less money. 7 day heists could hit two hours and there should be the option for people to play it and if someone needs to bail the team could agree to headout for payday instead of continue.

The AK762 is pretty drat good once you get it some recoil-reduction parts. All the other ARs hit like wet noodles and run out of bullets way too fast (Even with Enforcer ammo perk).

It's just weird when you got 38 bullets in a mag and two extra mags, tops, on you. 150-200 bullets would feel a lot better for the weaker ARs (compared to the super-effective shotguns).

Yeah, being able to just hit the "GO DIRECTLY TO BANK" button (After say, day 1-2) and skip a bunch of other prep stages would work too, just that the big MAD CASH delivery van that turns up on sunday haven't arrived and you don't have any prep so several rooms with extra rewards are blocked off, tougher security and less time to pile on the cash bags before you *really got to go*.

Sort of like a dynamic campaign with several multi-day heists built in that leads to something greater if you pull it off.

It struck me yesterday that the game got several pretty massive maps that are merely reserved for really short "Escape" stages, and there are some maps in multi-day missions that could stand on their own or be reused/modified to fit into longer heists.

Anything for a Payday that says "You escaped with 73 bag(s)" :v:

For ARs only my go to weapons on overkill are the AKM and M16. After that I have the AUG and the LR 300 (CAR-4) if I want to mix it up. The AUG in particular is surprisingly good once you have the Leadership skill aced (50% recoil reduction on everything) and get a hang of the recoil since it's a loving tack driver, having a higher base accuracy than the M14. On lower difficulties I also have the Ak 5 which is really fun to use but you really feel the lack of damage on overkill, though if I know I'm running with a good crew I'll take it sometimes anyway cause I can get away with it.

Sometimes I really want to go and use the AK-74 again but I don't have enough weapon slots to have one in my inventory. :smith:

Bulletstorm is a really underappreciated skill for a measly one skill point. In a bad situation? Running out of ammo or you've a room full of dudes? Need to cross a street to a getaway van? Plop down your ammo bag and shoot wildly for six whole goddamn seconds at the cost of absolutely no ammo, then you have an ammo bag to reload from.

AK7.62. I recall reading stats that put it at double the damage of a CAR4 (therefore double your average AR) and half the damage of an M308. It's a hard-hitting bastard with full auto capability. Tap fire at range, open up when there's a bulldozer about to manmeat you.

JP36 is also good for having truckloads of ammo and when modded becomes a bit of a laser, but if you're up against V Hard or Overkill, the armour strength of the enemies means that advantage gets wasted.
