They did nothing except make me wish there were more funny posts. The thread doesn't require you to watch at this point and anything really good will be in hilarious gif form. I will watch the finale though.

This is easily the most painful part of trying to watch Dexter now, especially since BB started up again. I can't make it through an episode with only half a dozen liveposts, I need scene-by-scene ridicule and vitriol to maintain the will to live throughout.

I don't remember any pics of Dexter standing outside the cafe, during the day, watching Saxon. It was something that really had to be seen. I'm pretty sure that was the worst moment of the show so far.

Dexter's Final Cut is now read, and it was well worth doing. It's impossible to read in any other way but as contemptuous of the ruin that the show has become. It's also so good to see Dexter as an actual psychopath again instead of an angst-ridden antihero.

Forgive me if this has been asked and answered, but is there a chance that Lumen was meant to be the Hannah character? I remember the rumors that Julia Stiles was fired or written out because of on set drama.

No but Jon did ask him what the hell is up with the low body count. I've never actually seen MCH outside of Dexter so that was interesting.

I lost interest in Dexter after season 4 because the premise was getting stretched a little thin by then. I just wasn't able to suspend my disbelief to think that 1/3 of tha apparent population of Miami are serial killers anymore. The format was bugging me and the B cast has never been stellar but by that point I was sick of them and just gave p. Picked it up season 8 last week because of how terrible everyone said it was, and it definitely didn't disappoint in that regard. What a shitshow shamefest. One thing that's irking me a lot is Deb. She's always been, to me, a terrible character even from season 1, but the writers have really screwed her over. Treating her like she's just a huge bitch because she doesn't understand how groovy cool Dexter is. Mean ol' Deb who gets annoyed at Dexter when he wants to have his serial killer girlfriend stay with Deb. Why doesn't Deb want Dexter to be happy? URGH SHE'S SUCH A BUZZKILL WHY DOESN'T SHE UNDERSTAND HOW COOL MURDEROUS LUNATICS ARE?!?!?!?! Seriously this season is at least weirdly engaging for how creepy it's been about how cool psychopaths are.

Not to mention, how she's just frigid and mean because she doesn't see how much of a nice guy her boss is. I'm actually grateful the writers forgot that particular plotline (among others so far), it was just the creepiest. Plus I don't think there's enough time in the season to show Boss What's-his-name donning the proverbial fedora, anyway.

I'm watching Season 3 for the first time and reaching episode 7 has been a tremendous chore. I adored the first season, but thought the second was mediocre since the sociopath girlfriend plot wasn't interesting enough to be stretched for over 10 hours. The Doakes sub-plot was the only good thing, yet at the same time killing him on the second season felt like wasted potential as his interactions with Dexter were among the highlights of the show. Season 3 so far? There's been the BFF sub-plot with Miguel that suffers from being stretched for endless hours like Lila's in Season 2, and what feels like an ever-increasing amount of time spent on these uninteresting side-characters that never seem to change in any way. Debra is a tremendous womanchild in a show full of stereotypical female characters and I'm sure her story arc of having issues with her superiors and men has been repeated half a dozen times so far. There's also something about a guy called Chicky Hines that I've been sleeping through and a skinner psychopath who has barely been relevant up to this point. I hate myself so I'm going to give it until Season 5 to get better (though from reading this thread it seems like the show drops even further in quality beyond 4), if it doesn't then I'll watch Breaking Bad which everyone seems to adore.
