phenom64 posted:I don't think the movie is going to continue the story. From what I've heard it's going to be remake of season 1 but with a better budget, better actors, etc. If this is true, thank goodness. In terms of closure, I don't mind if they leave The Operator and its motives enigmatic since trying to tie them down to human understanding would only take away its unsettling impact (and even fall into cliche). I'd rather they reveal who Hoody is, the identity of #totheark once and for all, then ending the character progression of Alex, Tim and J even if it means not all of them survive after the final entry.

The only real survivor should be slendy, himself. Everyone else should be left insane, broken, or dead.

Remember when Alex laid out the entire backstory of Slenderman while they were walking through the woods and no one (the audience) even bothered to debate if he was serious or if it was canon because it was so dumb? That's why you don't do that in horror. That's exactly what they will do in the movie.

I'm hoping that it was Alex lying in order to misdirect Jay for further manipulation. The connection to fire hasn't been explained yet either.

Alex got J to show up at the park because he wanted to "show him something" or whatever and then as they're walking through the woods Alex is like "So yeah back in the day in these very woods they used to tie VIOLENT CRIMINALS' hands and feet to trees and then as the trees grew they stretched them out. You know, making them taller and skinnier. You gettin this?"* * not actual dialog e: I mean it's not stupid as far as monster origin stories go, it's just that they're all stupid. So don't do it.

Didn't they come out and say that it was just Alex being a creep rather than an origin story for the Operator?

Robot Randy posted:Didn't they come out and say that it was just Alex being a creep rather than an origin story for the Operator? Yea they've stated after the fact that Alex's explanation was just him making up stories to Jay, which sort of makes sense since the origin is so ridiculous (trees don't grow like that). That being said, the acting certainly didn't reveal this, so we're left with what very clearly appeared to be an attempt at an origin story. Edit: The real best-solution here might be to follow 2001. The audience is never shown the aliens, but artifacts and actions let us know some aspect of their motivation. I have no idea how you'd insinuate a motive from the Operator without outright revealing it, but leaving the audience thinking they understand without any information dump is probably the smoothest way to handle a given explanation. There's currently no functional difference between Operator and "aliens" anyway. I'm betting the ending will swerve into John Dies At The End megaparody and ridiculousness. I can't imagine a serious ending that has both closure and entertainment.

So on a lark, I volunteered for a haunted house. I then got the person in charge of it to watch a bit of Marble Hornets, and she asked me to make some things to creep up the trail through the woods. Sadly an rear end in a top hat tore down two of the pages. Didn't have any other place to really put it, and I'm...Probably prouder than I really should be of making them. But dammit, I worked hard on them.

They should do some Parent Trap/Eddie Murphy movie style editing to get the Nature Break guy and Jay in the same frame. Maybe passing one another in the parking lot outside the hiking trails at Rosswood.

So this seems to be the time that all the series are posting new videos, but I wanted to point everyone to Keratin Garden which just posted another episode. She is moving the series into an audience participation route where we can choose which of three potential paths she is going to take from here on out. It actually sounds like the story could go into some weird directions if the audience chooses the "break into a corporate skyscraper", or "follow the hell hound that's stalking her" but I guess she has plans for how to shoot these if the poll goes that way. In any case, here's a link to the page: http://www.youtube.com/user/KeratinGarden/videos

Based on what the Facebook page says: You just need to use the access key code that you received back when you bought the game in March, remove the dash marks, and copy it onto Steam's product activation page. As for more new content: Apparently the intro level is also extended (once you pass the backyard gate, it's brand new territory instead of a loading screen. I haven't tried myself yet though.
