The paranoia from parents today far exceeds what it was in the 90's when this rumor was prevalent though. Like instead of going door to door this year, or even having their parents drive them door to door which seems to be popular, the trick-or-treaters of my town all went to the High School's parking lot where parents handed out candy at different stations. I drove past that. It was incredibly sad and the kids looked miserable.

I always figured it was due to kids or parents being too obeast to continually walk. I got Fat-raged at last night when I told a lady driving her kids around that she shouldn't be doing so with only her parking lights on maybe not seeing normal walking kids.

I wasn't at all surprised he killed her, the only way they could have telegraphed his evil nature any harder is if they'd have had a cutscene where a guy was furiously tapping out something in Morse code. I was just surprised that it was less supernatual/demonic in nature, and more assassin/serial killer-like. But then again, this is AHS, so it's a given that there will definitely be even more shocking revelations about this guy just around the corner.

This episode finally hooked me on this season. Not sure why, but before now I didn't really "care". Can't wait to see what comes of the Hank arc. Wasn't there a snake in the pregnancy/sex ritual they performed? Now that I've seen Laveau use snakes several times I wouldn't be surprised if Cordelia tried one of their spells but screwed it up somehow and this is the result. Though undercover witch-hunter is much more

I'm starting to wonder two things after rewatching the episode earlier, and hitman ties into my guess as to his career. 1. Does his wife know? Because something about her reaction to Fiona's "He reeks of bullshit" makes me think she suspects SOMETHING... and if he knows she's a witch, I wonder if she wouldn't be cool with him being a hired gun, and the phone conversation was just misdirection in case. "Oh, the boss is there? Okay." 2. IF he's a hitman... was the acid in the face witch-related, or is it some former client/someone getting at him through her, even if it's going to make the voodoo/school rivalry explode?

This season reminds me of those White Wolf RPGS, where every supernatural being has a hierarchy and bitchy politics. I miss the actual horror of the last two seasons - while both were over the top, there was at least a little fear of the unknown. Here all the main characters are powerful and fully engaged in the weird poo poo going on, which removes the fear.

I'd be willing to bet Leslie Jordan's character's explanation is along the lines of, he's pretty  ...something something femme. It's not that it bothers me, but there's a part of me that wishes TV could find a way to make sexuality actually not provocative or vaguely odd. I mean there's good examples and bad examples, but I can't think of many cases (...except maybe Caprica?) where gay people are played "straight", so to speak, with no references to how progressive/whacky the relationship is.The fact that Ryan Murphy is getting a whole HBO show about "sexuality" absolutely hurts me, though. I thought the portrayal of sexuality and relationships on Caprica was really great, and one of the best parts of the series. RDM's 17th Precinct pilot (which was excellent on all counts, I can't believe it didn't get picked up) seemed like it could have been the same way, going from what I remember of some of the characters' setup.

My favorite Ryan Murphy moment is in Murder House where after the commercial break there's a totally pointless scene of a gay guy being murdered in the 70s and then it cuts to the modern day and it's the tour guide for the murder tour telling that story before going on to the actual Murder House story.

It's annoying to say it, because Caprica was awful, but Caprica was probably one of the few modern shows you could watch in 50 years and not cringe at the portrayal of homosexuality. I mean there's a rough continuum of "progressiveness" along The Wire/Six Feet Under/The New Normal/Modern Family/Glee/Will and Grace in mainstream TV, but I'll be the happiest when something like 17th Precinct hits network TV and gay relationships are played as if nothing at all is weird.

My favorite was the ridiculously hamfisted "THERE ARE NO STATISTICS TO SUGGEST GAY PEOPLE ARE WORSE PARENTS THAN STRAIGHT ONES" line that was flung at Jessica Lange by Zachary Quinto. It was just so out of place in the scene that it was almost jarring. Almost like Murphy forgot that it wasn't Glee but still wanted to shove in some sort of pro-gay message- which is commendable, but not when it's so obvious as to be jarring/PSA-ish.

I just watched it (for the first time) a few days ago, and it felt pretty in-character to me. Slightly absurd, in the sense that it was an argument with a ghost, but pretty funny and on-point for my vision of Chad.
