I spent hours downloading the TESO beta and played it for an hour. The combat is somehow worse than Skyrim. They tried to make a multiplayer Elder Scrolls but couldn't pull it off so it feels like some half-assed "action" MMO where you can pick up bottles and things.

Requires soul stones. The only way to revive your self or other people is with one. You can't revive your self in pvp. The soul stones have to match the level, so the 1-10 stuff is only good for recharging 1-10 weapons or 1-10 people then they go poof. Not a bad thing considering how pvp is.

It's from an established brand and has a lot of half-baked poorly designed features that they can make look good on the back of a box or a game review: Large world, tons of sidequests, "exploration", "deep" skill customization, voice acting, etc. Since every burnt-out WoW player and their mom buys every single new MMO that gets a big retail release, they can make all their development costs back from charging $60-$80 upfront and investors will be happy even if 90% of the player base quits after a month or less. the thing is nerds actually wanted another star wars mmo. of course they had no choice because galaxies shut down so its TOR or nothing no one wants a TES mmo
