Bored posted:"Randomly hugging people" If I remember right assault can be applied to any kind of touch, while battery is repeated. Depending on how creepy the hugging gets, I could see sexual assault charges getting thrown around in a few cases too.

Assault is creating apprehension that they're going to touch you, battery is when they actually touch you. So it would be assault and battery.

I love this because one of the things bronies won't shut up about is how manly they are for liking My Little Pony or whatever, or how liking a girl's thing doesn't make them less of a man (which is true, there's nothing wrong with a guy liking girly things in and of itself). Then he shares this poo poo. Being effeminate is a bad trait for men to have when it comes to devices designed solely to kill somebody instantly, but not when it comes to a 24-minute toy commercial for girls.

Being effeminate is a bad trait for men to have when it comes to devices designed solely to kill somebody instantly, but not when it comes to a 24-minute toy commercial for girls. I seriously do think it's because of like the masculine equivalent of capitalist inadequacy. These are people who aren't secur ein their masculinity, who know they don't really fit the stereotypical male power figure, but who aren't self-aware enough to move past it. Instead, they try to transcend it, by claiming to be so secure in their gender that they can do something which is stereotypically its opposite: watch a show for little girls. Everything that follows (all the weird obsessions and porn) is just the usual nerd community stuff, but the core of it is internalized self-loathing for not being man enough, which manifests over and over again as misogyny and homophobia. Much like MRAs.

I mean, what do these guys have to offer but their niceness? By the way, the definition of nice is very individualized, narrow and is unlikely to be interpreted as niceness by the receiver of said niceness. I was once told by a stranger at a coffee shop that he would teach me the wonders of the depths of storytelling in Final Fantasy, and would get me to stop watching the Kardashians. I have never seen a single episode, this was just an assumption on his part. Then he complained about the freindzone. Hahaha, friend? That's a big assumption too.

It's kind of like when you see famous actors breaking up with supermodels, and a ton of people comment "but she was so hot!" Hey guess what? Most people are looking for real, working relationships. Beauty or chivalry won't get you very far when every other personality trait basically boils down to "vain, useless sack of poo poo". Anyway, some content. I noticed an unread message in my "other" inbox on Facebook this evening. It was from a guy in Egypt, simply saying "Hi". This wasn't the first time I'd gotten a message like this, and any time it happens, I look at their page just out of curiosity, wondering how they found me. Chrome dropped the tab saying "This page is in Arabic. Would you like to translate it?" So I said "Yes". This is what happened:

I'm convinced that the venn diagram for bronies and MRAs is practically a circle. There's a little sliver on the MRA-only side for politicians, and a little sliver on the brony-only side for dudes who are otherwise pretty okay except for the fact that they want to gently caress a horse.
