Eh, I'm not too up on it, it's too upbeat for that point, and changes the reason for anna being struck from accidental out of fear and terror that Elsa has when it comes to her powers (which links it together with the first time she hit Anna and the rest of the movie till then) and changes it to hitting her out of anger by accident which kinda changes the whole deal from scared sister to angry, stubborn sister, and that doesn't seem to mesh as well with the rest of the movie.

This. The reprise is one of my favorite pieces in the movie for the manic build of Elsa's fear in contrast to the loss of Anna's optimistic mediation. It characterizes Elsa's worst quality and Anna's best, forcing them to butt heads and concluding with exactly why fear is Elsa's enemy. Plus, I adore Bell and Menzel's voices rolling over one another. :swoon:

This is really cool, though I'm happy they ditched it. It really changes the perspective we view Elsa, turning her into a rebelling teenager who doesn't really care that she's hurting people, rather than someone who is simply controlled by that very fear. That's the impression the song left on me, anyway.

It makes perfect sense to me that a ruling family in pseudo-medieval Europe wouldn't want their daughter's sorcery to be public knowledge, especially since they couldn't know she'd eventually grow to god-like power and be able to wipe out crusades with a wave of her hand.

When you're the Queen of a kingdom that controls a vital sea-trade port and you have the power to crush armies and armadas with a wave of your hands, bitches step in line. That kind of economic and military power is pretty formidable, and if you're a subject of the Ice Queen's rule it must be pretty sweet to know that you're rolling heavy with the Ice Crew.

Well, the Deluxe soundtrack version is sung by the songwriters and not Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell. :P

But try searching "Life's Too Short Menzel" on youtube. I found a version pretty quickly.

Watched the movie. It was amazing. Better than Tangled. Should have watched it sooner. Then I read this entire thread start to finish in two days. Marshmallow = best Disney Princess. Baby Sven = best Disney Villain.

So I picked up the art book. Lots of great pictures, anecdotes from the creators, and some reveals about early story ideas. I recommend it. It's pretty amazing some of the detail they had to consider.

Also includes sketches of an early-Elsa using her ice powers to bully Anna. It's surprisingly adorable.

I actually just saw it for the first time as well. I love the awareness that Disney has had now with the last three princess films, and I would be incredibly interested to see what concepts they tackled next. The music was wonderful and the humor was excellent to boot.

Favorite part for me had to be Kristoff's freak-out when Anna is talking about her and Hans getting engaged after a day. He is the flat-out voice of the audience there and it's wonderful.

The girl that sang it for the Radio Disney Awards butchered it though. I know she probably sang it good for her, but when compared to the original, it just sucked and crashed, horribly

So, what to do you guys think of this? That was some ominous music.

Spoliers for Once Upon a Time
Everybody, let’s give it up for “Once Upon a Time.” Sunday was a big night for ABC drama finales, and the fairy tale-centric series managed to steal the spotlight in a huge way.

The reason? An out-of-nowhere, third-season twist that was a truly brilliant piece of product placement-engineered plot. In the very final minute of the episode, a blue liquid spilled from an urn and magically turned into a person. From the looks of the blue dress, the gloves, and the fact that she left a trail of ice behind her when she walked out of the room, it appears to be the character Elsa from “Frozen,” Disney’s monster hit that is currently the highest-grossing animated movie in history.

Almost immediately after Queen Elsa appeared on screen, the Internet went crazy. Disney characters obviously already have a huge presence on the show, given that it’s the parent company of ABC. But injecting the show with a dose of the enormous popularity of “Frozen”? Well, that’s just a genius move that will only benefit both franchises. While “Once Upon a Time” has slipped over time in both quality and viewership, the obsession with “Frozen” only continues to grow, setting box office and soundtrack sales records. The crossover should make viewers curious about tuning in to season four.

A quick look at last week shows them with the highest rating for the 18-49 demographic in their time slot. Doesn't look like they're failing.

I don't see how it works though since those not watching, me included, don't know anything about it till now. She showed for like what, a minute? There's no hype around it or an upcoming repeat, so who really cares?
And it certainly isn't any dirtier than the rule 34 stuff floating around

I think that was the season finale, so the point is that next season Elsa will be involved and that might bring in new viewers?

Between Captain America and this, ABC/Disney are really pushing that "making people care about the TV show!" angle hard.

Once Upon a Time has always been Disney Princesses: The TV Series. Seriously, one plotline had Snow White's daughter teaming up with Sleeping Beauty and Mulan to fight Alice in Wonderland's Queen of Hearts with Captain Hook's assistance. The only truly remarkable thing about Elsa's cameo is how much her dress resembles the one from the film since only Belle routinely wears her movie dresses on the show.

Not in the least. The show is basically a female-driven Lost with Disney characters. Its very soapy, incredibly cheesy and convoluted as all hell. Having grown up with Xena and Hercules, I'm immune to its schlock and can enjoy it for what it is, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it to someone who's used to more sophisticated dramas like Breaking Bad or The Sopranos.
