I knew a dude who was alpha nerd of his group of semi-normal people so he was pretty much tasked with introducing "new nerdy hobby" to the group, which is fair and all, except whenever someone in the group would get better than him at the game he introduced he'd move onto some new thing so that he wouldn't have to deal with losing. For the short period I was involved with those dudes he got super into Magic the Gathering and was like YEAH MAN I THINK I'M GONNA START BUILDING SOME TOURNAMENT READY DECKS but was a terrible loving player so when literally every newbie in the group was better than him (he had confided in me that he'd been playing Magic for years before this) he really abruptly stopped playing it when the rest of the group would and like a week later was all "yeah so like Warmachine is pretty cool let's all play that." Last time I checked he had tried to found an eSports/MLG thing at his university for Starcraft 2 of all loving games, I think he moved back in with his folks after graduating last year and probably doesn't have a job because the only thing he has on his Facebook (which he documents everything on obsessively) is "worked at QuakeCon" lmao

I used to get a ton of anxiety when tanking and healing in games like warcraft. I never really understood why people got so loving mad about video games, just chill and have some good times

I am that gamer friend, but all I play is dark souls and indie games that can run on a low-end pc from 2007. I am also the token gay, but that seems to be unrelated.

He was this fat dude who always wore a sweater and sometimes wore a MLP shirt. He always smelled of stale cheese and would interject into conversations I was having or read Game Informer in the corner of the room we were in. I think he also liked Mass Effect.
