Thread reminds me of a story I read of a story I read about a guy who dove in a bay near Seattle and beat a Giant Pacific Octopus to death, dragged it out of the water, and ate it. People were pissed but Giant Pacific Octopus aren't endangered so who cares

I think this century we're going to see a real shift in understanding and opinion of the intelligence of many animals making us think it's wrong to eat and keep them. It's ok tho we can just eat their meat grown in a lab.

Honestly I don't even think octopus and squid* taste that good. I mean I like them enough to eat them on occasion, but they are extremely chewy to the point where eating them can actually be a challenge. Maybe that's just because I live in an area where they aren't commonly eaten but even when traveling I've never eaten one and thought it was amazing. *calamari doesn't count
