I have it on good authority that Lily Allen drowns kittens in the wrong flavour of monster munch on a regular basis.

I like Lily Allen (she did a "gently caress you coalition" song last year) but she got some flak for a music video that was a bit poo poo about black women's body images, having a go at them for having "big booty" or whatever it was. http://www.theguardian.com/music/2013/nov/17/lily-allen-hard-out-here

These days I mostly listen to Leningrad and Modena City Ramblers anyway. Although it was sad realising that the King Blues no longer play shows in Scotland because the singer's a twat who got into a fight with some punks up here and now he's scared.

I think some people thought she had been cashing in on her multiple miscarriages by always talking about them in interviews (nm that she kept getting asked and had no interest in making that the headline quote). She also had some black dancers in a music video once?

Jedit posted:If you base your drinking choices on anything other than bang per buck it's going to be what you see other people drinking, which was at the time more likely to be local brands. Underage drinkers from bad areas are also more likely to see people drinking in the street than indoors. In Newcastle and Manchester a teenager wanting to get blitzed could go into an off-licence and get a pack of a cheap local brand like Newkie Brown or Boddies. The big local brands in the Central Belt during the period when the neds discovered Buckie were pub ales like McEwan's and Younger's, which you wouldn't find being drunk in the street, and spirits that were more expensive than they could afford. Newcastle Brown is not cheap. I guess it might have been back in the 70s or whatever before it started to be exported to the US as a trendy premium beer. CancerCakes posted:White ace is the brand I trust when it comes to tramp juice. Add black current to make it palateable. Oh christ. For anyone unfamiliar, its label is beautiful and also indistinguishable from the kind you find on washing up liquid Tasting notes: cigarettes, syrup, very clearly artificial flavouring. I'm almost certain no bottle of this has ever so much as seen an apple. Merrydown was amazing though. It was always my go-to as a poor undergrad for pre-drinking because it was cheap as hell, strong as gently caress, and actually not that bad all things considered. Maybe she hated paying tax before but she seems pretty keen on it now. I can kind of understand why people who make stuff that gets pirated hate pirates.

I've never thought of tax as being my money taken away from me, since I never interact with it or even see it except on my payslips. I imagine its more aggravating for self employed etc people. Maybe people would be less "grr taxes" if every job advertised with the after tax salary somehow.

King Blues remind me of all the dodgy American punk bands that I liked when I was a teenager, only they sang about living in the UK rather than mocking George W Bush or complaining about being dumped. They're not that great, but they make me feel oddly nostalgic.
