Not really a seflie but there was those two Norwegian (or some Scandinavian) douchebags who carved their initials into the Roman Coliseum, got caught, and sentenced to jail time.Blue Raider posted:this is right. daria and that attitude existed when the world was bigger and information wasnt a click away It still exists it just ossifies into cults of beliefs like SA or Jezebel to try and rationalize what is really just a fractured ego and shattered sense of idealism. Even in the late 90s the internet was exploding but the lack of cheap, streaming video prevented a lot of people like Daria from really uploading their entire adolescence to YouTube and documenting everything visually so most of what was online was nerdy walls of text and lovely .gifs/flash animation. mind the walrus fucked around with this message at 17:16 on Apr 18, 2015 |

ok so the pros and cons of this behavior and what it says about the womens pros: we have successfully trained them to always smile because it serves our mood and balances out our own sorrows cons: it shows a great lack of self awareness and understanding beyond being able to smile everywhere at anytime. also scandinavian dudes carving their initials into a roman chunk of history and you managed to not make a single gay joke or question that scene???

However, that night Tom and Daria talk about what's going on between them in his car and the two suddenly kiss. A guilt-ridden Daria confesses all to Jane the next morning, who confronts Tom leading to the two amicably breaking up. Later, Daria and Jane discuss the situation and decide to put their friendship on hold although both hope they can work through what's happened. They did start to show a lot more of the actual world outside of small-town suburban high school caricatures and heavily implied that Daria's place in it was going to be a lot smaller, more typical, and more maladjusted than she grew up believing, but they never really gave her a Peggy Hill-style dressing down which was sorely needed.
