I remember when Undertaker was having his original squash matches on Superstars, Honky Tonk Man on commentary dubbed it a Tombstone since he'd just killed his opponent. Although who knows where he stole it from.

Probably gets asked a lot but the Ambrose fake out has me wondering. Who was the last person in WWE who got their first world title off something other than a MitB cash in?

For the WWE championship (and discounting Daniel Bryan who won his world title off a cash in), Sheamus at TLC 2009. He won his title opportunity in a battle royal. For World Championship, Mark Henry at Night of Champions 2011. Think every following champ has been a repeat or a MitB cash in.

There's probably a vimeo or dailymotion of it out there, but if you have no luck I'll rip that section when I'm home from work tonight and upload it. Thanks pal, I found it on the version on my HDD. Though if you separate them the last one to just win the WWE title for the first time would be Daniel Bryan beating Cena in 2013, even if his first title win was the WHC in 2011 using the briefcase.

God, just the proportions involved in those two should have made it immediately obvious. There was no room for Nash to properly get his arms around Giant, near his waist, and no way for Giant to even try to lift himself up from that angle.

britishbornandbread posted:I will contribute You would be correct (Rusev at Fastlane had Lana interference and the nut shot). Cena's last clean losses before SS was getting pinned by Orton at the Rumble and Chamber (although both times had Wyatt interference so they probably don't count as "clean." You might have to go back to Bryan at SS 13 for that).
