Aarons is on the fence for 2016 (and almost bolted for Chase Elliott a season or two ago, until MWR hosed up and pissed off NAPA), Brian Vickers is broken and David Ragan is unsigned. He has nobody in the lower ranks to come up, unless he wants Trevor Bayne back. What excites me the most is the iRacing event that would inevitability come out of this.

NASCAR 2015: Two cars probably die so that one can be born. What did MWR do to Sterling Marlin?

It's more of a what Sterling Marlin did for Michael Waltrip, a long con since 2001 or so.

Weird stat of the week: Edwards, Logano, and Ragan have qualified 1-2-3 at the past two races.

I've never watched a NASCAR race before and I want to get into it. Which race should I watch that's coming up? Are some more fun than others? Are some tracks always a bore-fest? I used to watch F1 but stopped when it became too procession-like. I'm in the UK and I don't have the channel that NASCAR is on so I'd have to use hooky web streams.

The Bristol night race is coming up on Saturday August 22nd which is my favorite race of the year. Yeah, it doesn't have the death defying type of poo poo that you'll see at the big super speedways like Talladega or Daytona, but it's still very cool to see short track racing at night, under the lights, in that badass stadium.

That works fine for me, that's a midnight start in the UK and I don't work Sundays and the wife will be in bed so I won't feel bad doing it. The short track racing looks mental. Very close from what I've seen?

This time isn't really his fault, but I can't help but notice that this is the second time in three seasons Clint Bowyer has gotten off relatively scot-free while MWR burns in his wake.thehustler posted:That works fine for me, that's a midnight start in the UK and I don't work Sundays and the wife will be in bed so I won't feel bad doing it. Oh yeah. It's actually not as good as it used to be, but still pretty good. They took what wasn't broken (A Great Track), fixed it by adding variable banking for some reason (A Terrible Track), and later realized their colossal gently caress-up and unfucked it to where it's A Kinda Good Track. Darlington will be another good upcoming choice, Sept 6th. There are a couple UK goons who pop into the IRC channel (#nascar in Synirc, link in the OP) on race days (JingleBells, el). They might be able to set you up with UK-friendly streams.

Yep, short track racing used to be the best thing. It was a royal rumble where everyone wanted to kill each other by the end of the night. Nowadays it's more tame but its still fun.

Pocono (this weekend) has been fairly entertaining recently, and Watkins Glen next week is always fantastic.

You know, the merchandise tents don't look as lovely as first expected. There's more of the smaller teams there, which is a plus - There was next to nothing at Pocono in June.

The one thing you absolutely must know about NASCAR is they ride around for about the first 80% of the race, it's the last 20 or so they actually race.
