He's outright lurking and has almost no presence this game. When he does post he doesn't come off as self-conscious which is a point in his favor, though maybe I only feel that way because I felt most of the D1 suspicion on him was missing the mark. He's someone I would have no problem voting for though, we have too many players in the game who are saying nothing. I don't think he's particularly scummier than, for example, Hal, the other Sam, or EXAKT.

Hot take, good to know.

I don't know. But in his catchup post he acknowledges that merk is playing like a defeated player approaching his lynch, and says ljtrigirl is a good case, but two posts later seems unaware that the deadline is within fourteen hours. So it makes that first catchup post look like fake effort just to punch the ticket in the thread.

Honestly the only time I've been scumbuddies with Sam he lurked really really hard and I did too. I can definitely see him as scum. I just don't know if that one point makes him a better case.

Though in this game is probably does. Would vote Samfucius.

Also, I would honestly rather not drop the the pearl. It'd be pretty bad for scum to get their hands on it, and while dropping it would allow it to go to another town there's a very real chance that a scum player would snatch it up.

I'm wondering why it would be bad for scum to get it. It wouldn't surprise me if that was true, but nothing has actually said as much. Either Vimes knows something and hasn't shared it until this hint, or he's making up reasons/guessing. He's voting people based on what they are saying in the moment. Very obvious if you look at the timing of his votes. Again there's not a ton of thought behind his posts but it's not like his votes are some big mystery.

Do you think his read on Diqnol being a big baby is one that needed to be carried over to Day 2? Do you really think his vote on Keane (who again refuses to explain why he has not bothered to vote) is actually worse than SirSam jokevoting Rarity on deadline day?

The Ninth Layer

Samfucius didn't pursue Rarity on Day 2, who on Day 2 claimed to be a confirmed mason. I guess that means he's inconsistent and scum! :rolleye:

He said it didn't do anything about it, but refuses to give it up because he's afraid scum will get it. He's either lying or just willingly refusing to share any information. Both of these positions, especially the first, are detrimental to town, because access to information helps town more than it helps scum.

Not sharing what it does is a null tell, there's no way to know if it should be shared or not, without knowing the information.

What I don't like was the offhand throw out of that information. Nothing Vimes has said before this indicated that he had any more information than we did about the pearl, but now it would be bad for scum to get their hands on it.

What happens to the pearl if the person holding the pearl gets lynched? Does it drop and open for a grab when then thread opens?

Point taken on Rarity/masonry, but yeah, I think voting based on what people are saying at the moment is scummy. It's indicative of reaching for whatever vote comes your way rather than actually holding reasoned opinions that you came to.

Should we hold back from someone we think is scummy because we don't know what will happen to the pearl? Even if it does just drop, we have basically the same chance of picking it up again as scum does.

Either rarity or kashuno picks it up. If anyone else picks it up beforehand, that's scummy as gently caress. If you are town but not rarity or kashuno do not pick it up.
