But you can certainly judge his writing talent by it because if you think he has anything less than near total authority on every writing decision being made you're delusional.

What a pointless teaser, I could barely recognize any of the faces anyways but I know that half those characters aren't dead yet so what's even the point? Why not just say "this is a show with characters in it"?

I like the idea for the teaser but the execution is lacking so it's kind of . It was also a weird choice to have all the dead Starks say something and randomly interrupt it with Joffrey before moving onto Jon. They should have gone the whole hog and had all the dead major characters talking, especially since they bothered to include Tywin, Ygritte, and Stannis' face in there.

Ned, Robb, Cat, Joffrey, Jon in order, then focus on Tyrion.

I get that they're showing dead people in order to suggest that the six main characters shown at the end are gonna die next (yeah right), but it's still strange to interrupt the clear sequence of dead Starks with Joffrey. Like I said, if they'd featured an assortment of other non-Stark dead major characters (Robert, Renly, Oberyn, to name some that aren't already there, for example) as well would have been better and would have made Joffrey's inclusion not feel so out of place. Alternatively, if they'd just shown the dead Starks (and only the Starks), followed by Arya and Sansa, and then panned back to reveal all the other main characters, that would have worked as well.
|
# ? Feb 15, 2016 05:26 |

Err, that's not the implication at all. It's heavily implying that Tyrion is dying next. That's who the camera is focusing on in the dead middle and it does the same thing every time a name is said. The reason they included Joffrey is so you would specifically know it wasn't just Starks, so when the camera focuses on Tyrion you (theoretically) go "oh gently caress Tyrion!". If you're then going to say well why didn't it include every Lannister in order too it's because the drat teaser is already a minute and a half long with just the bare minimum they needed to drive the implication home.

While I understand your thinking, I think it's actually implying all of the main characters (ie. Tyrion, Dany, Sansa, Arya, Jaime, and Cersei) are going to die because only dead people's faces should appear in the House of Black and White and they're all there. Tyrion gets specific focus during the transition from Jon not because he's being specifically marked for death over everyone else but because Tyrion is the "main" (read: top billed) character and is often given specific focus in these kinds of things because of it. Also, no names are said; the dead characters speak one of their famous lines while the camera pans over them. If one of Tyrion's quotes played over the camera panning over his face then I think you'd be onto something. But I think the teaser is supposed to be saying "oh no, look all the living characters are in the place with dead characters. They're all gonna dieeeeeeeeee so tune in to see that definitely happen!".

I just hope we don't get one hundred pointless scenes this season that go: Hey guys remember Ramsay? Yeah, he's still a huge rear end in a top hat. Here, have a scene of him kicking a dog that doesn't move the plot forward at all. Hopefully Dave Hill saves us from that

Her not throwing away needle is perhaps the single most important scene Arya has in her post-westoros arc, except for killing the night's watch dude but D&D in their incredible wisdom thought that a 2 episode long arc about Meryn Trant raping and beating a bunch of little girls was more important to show their audience. Well done boys!

She's making the classic "Stark Mistake" by staying true to herself and not letting go of her past to truly become a faceless man. Pretty sure that happened before the killing of the Night's Watch dude, so it's the first time we're seeing her actively make the choice of herself over the FM. And there's gonna more and more of those moments until finally they either have to kill her for it, or she gets hired to kill Sansa or something.

Yes, yes it was, however you have to be visually or mentally handicapped to not realize more emphasis is being placed on Tyrion than the others. Does it mean he'll die next? No. It means they teased the idea of it in a pretty disappointing teaser. How you guys can't understand what youtube commenters are is baffling.
