Well they absolutely did. It's just the old intro with an edit to include Pearl. Though they may have been trying to be purposely cheesy. It seems like something you'd see in a sitcom. [cue someone finding the same thing from an 80s sitcom. Also, it just reminded me of their "Love, American Style" bit and now I want to watch a n episode.]

It's not: they refilmed all the Forrester parts so it was just him instead of him and Frank.

Edit: Though I think the Simpsons were making fun of the same thing too. There must be a semi-famous real version of this.

That's true but isn't the theme song the same? The just added some extra bars to include Dr Clayton (Debra?) Forrester introducing Pearl.

When I watched my first MST3k the line "[he] can't control where the movie begins or ends" led me to believe they were watching the movie in a scrambled order.

Well, there was the famous "and the rest" bit from Gilligan's Island, but that was the 60's.

Cheers had several cast changes in the 80s and all they did was change the old-timey pictures during the opening credits. Other shows just changed the clips of the new/old stars (like Night Court).

The "GET ME DOWN" was not in either Joel version. And for season 10, it's "they try to survive the wrath of Pearl", not "they have to survive".

The Brute Man is such a weird movie. There's a lot of deliberate comedy moments but then there's all the murder. Like the grocer who hates everything and the young man who works for him, that scene is obviously played for laughs but then the very next scene the delivery boy is unceremoniously murdered.

But that was the movie where Mike cracked the most so it's always dear to me. "Creeper, creeper, creeper.."
