Trump is going to spend basically nothing on this election cycle and probably raise close to a billion dollars, then when he loses he will take that money for himself and people who donated are going to feel rightly scammed. He is going to completely destroy any individual donation fundraising potential on the right forever.

More than likely what'll happen is that Trump will blame it on the FEC or some other liberal bogeyman, and/or some other right-wing scam artist will come in and say that unlike Trump, HE won't be trying to scam you, so donate to him, and so the cycle continues anew. The idea that the "stupids" are the reason our democracy doesn't work is the ideology of the people that are loving everything up right now.
