But to chime in on this it's a bit of both. On one hand a longer game could have given them a bit more time to develop things or more importantly get them to do more editing passes (this is what really needed to happen, more editing passes at all levels.) On the other hand it already kind of drags things out in some aspects and ultimately the game does what it wants to do (even if it a pile of good ideas that don't go very far) and gets out without completely overstaying it's welcome.

This game doesn't seem to have LGBT characters as much as it has lesbians in it. That seems to be more about shipping anime girls together than it is inclusion.
The cast is exceptionally girl heavy but strangely enough, for how much sex stuff is in the game, it doesn't make a big deal about being lesbian or bi or whatever. Like, there's one prestablished relationship and then everyone else is more or less a free agent. Jill obviously has something for her boss but Jill's boss is pretty cool and also it's decently down-low/non romantic.

It's interesting how every single drink in the future is made of varying combinations of 5 chemicals/ingredients. Compared to bars with tons of bottles and taps about, at least.

It's not really that strange though. A lot of people like fapping to lesbians so they turn up in anime stuff all the time. Hell, there's practically a whole anime subgenre that's just entire casts of ambiguously gay waifus. If a gay guy showed up I'd be surprised. It actually has more guys than I expected for a game about waifus, it's not like there aren't any.

It's more like a Micheal Bay movie where the production values are great and the story is there but the execution has holes in it and there's a myriad of flaws that some people can ignore/forgive and others that can't.

Nowhere near the same amount of explosions though.

Right, but to use your phrasing, there's nothing really to fap to. Like, the nature of the relationships is handled subtly and tastefully, compared to numerous examples which actively pander their groupings to fans.

There is a gay guy who shows up later on. I also don't really see how this game is fetishising lesbianism? Like, Betty likes girls and talks about that a bit, but no one makes a big deal out of it and it's far from her only character trait.

If a gay guy shows up later I'll give it in the game's favor. I don't think the game is using lesbianism to fetishize its characters much more than it already has. It's just when I see a bunch of lesbianism in something that has already fetishized everyone, I tend to assume the intent is just more of the same.

Actually, if you look past the "lol Baysplosions" meme and his lovely work on Transformers and the like, you're left with deeply misanthropic stuff like Pain & Gain, showing that when it comes to intensely (and deliberately) unlikable characters and stories about people being poo poo, Michael Bay has quite a bit of skill. If anyone tried to do another film adaptation of Lolita, they could do much worse for a director than Michael Bay, given that fact.

I think there probably are people getting off to this game, but that's because people get off to a lot of different things. I'd don't think that's the intention of the game though. I think the writing has been severely fumbled but earnest in the premise.

Mainly because if this game was meant to be fap-bait it would probably be somehow more obnoxious and obvious about it and Donovan/Ingram would not exist, or it would have a more interactive gameplay system beyond give people drinks and decide if you want to give them alcohol.

Nah, I can totally buy that people fap to this. People fap to the strangest things.

But if there's author intent for people to fap to this, it's so insanely-minutely subtle that it's way more likely for fans to have inserted that intent themselves.

Yeah, Dorothy's pretty badly mishandled. Even then there are plenty of clues in the writing that while sex is a topic, sex isn't an intent.
#1: Character reactions to her are generally uncomfortable, polite acceptance or indifference.
#2: In direct contrast to Streaming-Chan, she doesn't openly shill her services. Like, she advertises that she is a sex worker, but she doesn't say 'if you wanna do it with me, here's my rates' like Streaming-Chan does.
#3: She remarks that her clientele are weird, with specific examples (Ingram's weirdness, the camo thing, etc.)

These are things that indicate to me that the author want's me to be thinking about this as a topic, not fapping to it.

Satire was one of the first casualties of 2016, the concept no longer has any meaning at all now... unless the meaning is to write/do/say something godawful and then claim it's satire when called on it. People do that a lot these days.

Guys I have a new idea for a game I thought you'd like to hear about.

It's about my gritty future world where the Zionists have come out of the shadows to head the New World Order. I'm not an antisemite though, we're just exploring the premise. Your character works as a janitor because he was kicked out of his government job after affirmative action made only brown people allowed to work there. I'm not racist though this is just examining an idea-space. The brown people who work there are all uniformly incompetent so your gameplay is mostly doing all their work for them without receiving any rewards. This is of course satire, but I'm not very good at satire so I'm going to pretty much leave that how it is. Instead of a soundtrack, I was thinking of having you listen to the underground remnants of this world's right wing radio, as they talk about the future resurgence of the White Race. Your character mostly just smiles and nods to this, but I don't want this game to be political so please don't take it that way. Mostly I want to focus on making Walker Texas Ranger references and jokes about Jerry Springer guests.

I know my game seems to really appeal to people on Stormfront but I promise this is all just tongue-in-cheek. So what do you guys think?

The general atmosphere is what I like the most about this game, I think. See, I like slice-of-life and long, rambling conversations that don't really go anywhere. The dialogue is awkward when you stare at it for too long, but like the feel it's trying to get across. God drat there is a lot of hate for this game in here. Quite frankly, I knew going into it what to expect and maybe that's why I am not so sorely disappointed as some of the others in here. The game is just a nice chill 6-7 hour story that was nice to play for 30 to 45 minutes every night while having an after dinner drink.

And quite frankly kudos to the creators for all the BS they had to put up with to get the game out. Not only that, but continued support, development, special requests, etc from the fanbase quite frankly have put them in a special place on my developer list. Hope they keep making easy and laid-back games such as this one.

She's like a bunch of Chuck Norris facts had a kid with one of those "lol soooo random" characters from some lovely Disney channel sitcom. All she's done so far is go on a bunch of monkeycheese tangents and get her head stuck in a helmet she picked up off the floor and tried to wear because YOLO or whatever-the-gently caress. But also she's a total badass OC Do Not Steal because a few of the customers vaguely recall some stories about her because the adage goes "tell, don't show" right? If this were World of Darkness instead of cyberpunk, she'd be the one unironically sporting the trenchcoat-katana combo.

Basically none of the cast is well-written and this game is a dumpster fire before we even get to the skeevy content.
