It's loving shameful that absent updating one or two links, this article is precisely as relevant as it was when I wrote it as an angry letter to my MP last November, and when I first published it in January :(

Please feel free to steal it and email it to your MP. Especially if they're a Tory.

The BBC article didn't even mention the JDs point of view until the last couple of paragraphs, and basically ignored the serious safety, understaffing, underfunding concerns.

To nobody's surprise.

It's even more concerning now that we have the ammo from the DoH civil servants themselves - that really should be a standard cut and paste into every single article about the 7 day NHS.

From your post, it looks like the lettings agency has actually fixed the ceiling twice and re-wired the electrics twice (aka, they've actually upheld their obligations for repairs).

You're probably on shaky ground for withholding rent if that's the case, although if they refuse to send out the pest control for your rat problem then that could eventually be grounds for holding it back.

Yeah, I just felt like ranting to be honest because I think some of the people I share this house with have really never lived alone before and the rat woke me up at 3am this morning and I couldn't get back to sleep

I used to wonder why people had a problem with vaping, since my dad had an e-cig for a bit while he was quitting, then I saw someone roller-skating down a road drenching it in smoke like a human fog machine and immediately hated it.

There was a BBC news article about it today too. I could only skim but from the looks of it it was trying to "explain" the conflict by just pointing out that junior drs are apparently miffed only about the scale of pay, with little or no mention of the staffing issues.

I thought we had a leak a while back that said that even by the government's own estimation they didn't have the staff? Did the entire world just forget that?

In the terrible new play, they go to great lengths to show that Snape, despite what you mentioned, is supposed to be a heroic character. Yeah I read the play and thought they portrayed Snape as a fanfic author who didn't understand the character would.

The play is a massive piece of poo poo.

Double apple is tasty though.

Vapes we have no idea of the health effects, only that the main bases (vegetable glycerine and propylene glycol) have been used in smoke/fog machines for decades without stage techs dying, but some of the flavorings (esp. butter/butterscotch) like diacetyl have been proven to be terrible for your lungs (it was first spotted in popcorn factory workers getting chronic lung disease) and should be avoided. There are some minor levels of combustion byproducts like formaldehyde, but they're about in line with eating a pear. Worries about organo-nickel salts forming on nickel coils are a potential concern, but they seem to only occur when you deliberately run the coil at red heat. I have no problem with a warning label on high power coils saying "jacking up the temperature to make huge clouds can kill" because it's going to end up true one way or another.

e: 6 - Benzene is an aromatic ring of six carbon atoms and will give you cancer if you breathe enough of it. It's present in coal tar, most plant matter combustion materials, and used to be used in aftershave.

I think vaping is very bad for you because whenever I see some oval office sucking on one making a noise like darth loving vader crossed with thomas the tank engine I want to loving punch them in their stupid loving head.

David Davis was in Northern Ireland today trying to make friendly noises. Indicated again that he thinks the UK can retain tariff free access to the single market and force the EU to accept restrictions on free movement, though again he reiterated the Tory line there will be no hard border in Ireland (or internal UK borders between NI and Britain) so I'm not exactly clear how he plans on imposing quotas...

Well, if we take the width of an average human to be 1 foot 6 inches, and the northern irish land border is 310 miles long, and human walking speed is 4.55 feet per second, then a maximum of three million and sixty-nine thousand migrants can enter the UK every second via an unsecured northern irish border.

Meaning we could ensure that the entire non-uk population of earth could not enter the country for at least forty minutes.

Can't argue with those numbers, that's a quota.
