The schadenfreude is on both political parties where either party would have been better off with almost anyone else. They both managed to pick the most loathsome candidate they could. Historians are going to rank Beau Biden's death right up there with Archduke Ferdinand's if Hillary loses.

I tried to google if literal party newspapers would have endorsed their own candidate, but it doesn't look like that either. The articles were definitely coloured, sure, but even the communists weren't tasteless enough to outright tell people to vote for themselves. I'm not surprised UK newspapers do, though, they're famous for saying "you couldn't make this up" before printing outrageous lies they made up themselves.
