On a lark, Maru had taken the weird hat that Jetsam had brought him just before the rig's hatch had closed and placed it on top of his suit's helmet. It had looked so silly in the cockpit's dim lighting at first, but already Maru was starting to take a shine to the additional attention the strange headgear was generating him on the various Wreck-feeds. Without immediate medical attention, Maru could expire from the urchins' psychoactive toxins, but at least his latest HEAT-gen scores were positive. The Wrecker looked up as he heard the pleasant ping of a successful transfer of ownership and got going gearing up into his very first real-life Gamma rig adventure. About as soon as Maru Lokka engaged the Crushclaw's controls and jabbed the Gamma rig's close-ranged tools into a still-intact bulwark, the Exo-Wrangler immediately recognized that his new dome-armored Gamma rig was about as crab-themed as they could come. Maru triggered the heavier arm's 'Rip' mode and watched as the Crushclaw's massive gripper squeezed the section of wall it had punctured and crumpled it into a thin rippling band before twisting and tearing the whole section out. It would be a bit cumbersome to use as a weapon, but it would work in a pinch. Maru scanned around the bunker they'd been defending and realized that they couldn't afford to attract any more enemies so close to the Pirate Automat - too much further damage to the area and the whole section of station would become critically compromised, sinking the whole business sector of the bunker. The choice became clear for Maru: he needed to lay low for a little while, to catch his breath behind a wall of rig armor and to tend to his wounds. He couldn't stay here if he wanted to do that and keep the Automat intact. Movement: > MOV.Rig: Maru Lokka steers his Crushclaw 1 hex SW (701 -> 800)! He didn't kick at the tentacle--that was a rookie mistake. Once you were focused on your own body, you were subject to its limitations. There was always something in the environment, even if it meant risking it all. Trideo released his grip on the Fishanoid, the sudden lack of resistance to the tentacle slingshotting him back into the radioactive hole with such force that he slammed against the rusting rad=shielding on the wall, knocking it loose and unleashing a wave of pent-up plasma at the Shocktopus... which, very unfortunately, had commendable reflexes and an infuriating lack of skeleton, simply squishing its way out of the beam. Still, that was a distraction, and an opening. Trideo pulled the fungal IED out of his pack and hurled it into the beast's mouth. That, at least, worked as intended, catching the stray grunt that the Shocktopus had grabbed to devour in the process, and actually collapsing the deck entirely, creating something akin to an antlion pit around the Fission Hole. But that wasn't to his advantage, and there was nothing left. No tools, no time. Short of a miracle, it was time to fall back to the engrammatic backup back at the Kollektiv. On the bright side, at least he wouldn't remember selling out to GEN.
