How did I get here?

Well I don't know, in Portugal as far as I'm aware I've never seen a News Channel/Newspaper/Editorial supporting a candidate in anything in an official manner. Of course we know which media sides with which political party but there's never a blatant "Here, vote x". Maybe the laws just aren't the same, I guess.

Of course in opinion columns there's a personal bias, I'm not talking about that.

Editorial columns are opinion columns?

I mean their article is basically nothing but them pointing out everything wrong with Hillary before going "But at least she's not Trump because holy poo poo what is wrong with you people." which is a stance several conservative outlets are taking.

I mean I think the point is to push Clinton to improve on her image because it's kinda poo poo right now, but just to acknowledge even Clinton at her worst is better than Trump at his best.

poo poo I'm usually Republican-leaning but Clinton would basically have to kill one of my family members with a hatchet at this point to get me to vote Trump.

The schadenfreude is on both political parties where either party would have been better off with almost anyone else. They both managed to pick the most loathsome candidate they could.

Historians are going to rank Beau Biden's death right up there with Archduke Ferdinand's if Hillary loses.

It's written by their Editorial team rather than an individual author. That's as close to an endorsement as a Newspaper can give without putting it front page above the fold.

Goddamn I hate Australian media and am glad I don't have to read that petty whiny opinionated poo poo paper anymore. Even when it's 'unbiased' it's so blatantly biased and scientifically illiterate. It's like the editorial team is a committee of soccer mom's at a ladies lunch.

Really? All the major broadsheets and tabloids do in the UK, and have done for a long time. The Sun under Murdoch has claimed to be able to swing national elections with it's endorsement, and to be fair they haven't picked a loser yet. They're very good at gauging public opinion.

Really. I tried to google if literal party newspapers would have endorsed their own candidate, but it doesn't look like that either. The articles were definitely coloured, sure, but even the communists weren't tasteless enough to outright tell people to vote for themselves. I'm not surprised UK newspapers do, though, they're famous for saying "you couldn't make this up" before printing outrageous lies they made up themselves.
