Codiusprime posted:Amazon has said they will let people root it, a lot people have taken this to mean mean we'll have complete control over the device. I can't see it being that easy, they might let us root it but with them actually losing money on every device it's in their best interest to keep it locked down to some extent. Will be very interesting to see how it plays out. They've said they won't fight people rooting it. No one knows how hard or easy that will be to do.

Out of the box, only if you bought them from the Amazon app store, assuming the app is compatible with the Fire. You can root and put the Play store on there, and most things will work fine.

This app isn't running but after unplugging after a full charge it's telling me that 5% of my battery usage is F1 Timing 2012 but there's no usage details. I believe that means it had used 19% of the usage to that point, not that it contributed to 19% of the current drain.

But will swiftkey 3 and swiftkey flow co-exist on the play store? I alway saw it as Swiftkey X was version 2; 3 was 3 and flow will be version 4.
