Of course we loving lost. Green Party support in Texas?? Half of the Texas electorate is brain dead and the other half doesn't vote. But I can assure you that it was a step in the right direction. We also broke records as far as fielding candidates and getting votes. My friend Emily Sanchez received 1% of the vote for the Senate. This woman is a single mother who lives below the poverty line and she still went out there. Not to mention she named herself Spicy Brown. This is the occupy that I know.

EDIT: BTW several dudes almost got 20% of the vote :smug:

all the ones with "communism" or "social" or "socialist" or "worker" or "green" in the name, for one

honestly I think both the winner-takes-all system is to blame but also the fact that most reasonable adult American citizens don't prescribe to a majority of the poo poo leftist parties put on their platform. Much quicker and more effective to pressure the Democratic party from the left imo, but keep on trying to get a commie elected in the very beating heart of NATO

Occupy Wall Street would have been more effective if they had occupied Wall Street. Crazy idea, try barricading Wall Street and preventing anybody from getting in or out. Yes you'd probably have the police out in full rear end-whomping force but that would have been a better image instead.

You could tell that the establishment was terrified of OWS by watching their violent reactions. You don't spray down peaceful protesters literally sitting on a park sidewalk with pepper spray in front of multiple cameras unless you are scared and desperate.

The US government has good reason to fear mass disillusionment with the system, even if the first wave of action seems kind of silly and pointless.

The most violent revolts were always laughed at first.

The U.S. had energy independence during WW2 when it utilized wood gas to manufacture munitions and supplies and saved the petrol for the war effort.

Fracking is a thing because of the gas lobby. The US does a lot of really stupid wasteful poo poo because of lobbying in case you didn't know.

You could use phytoremediation to replenish the environment around a cut off mountain top and gasify the wood output in that process. The solution really is that simple. The problem is complicated.
