So I'd probably describe this game as aggressively mediocre. Maybe it's the lack of content I assume there will be more for launch but after Hardline who the gently caress knows.

Hoth is really really badly designed. While it's not impossible for the Rebels to win it's stacked heavily against them. The first point is decently balanced, the second point is pretty much spawn camping the rebels and point three depends entirely on whether or not you've killed an ATAT. The Snowspeeders are really great but one of the ATATs is positioned so you can't actually use the tow cable without plastering yourself into the wall. The uplink stations restarting if the empire reflips them is insanely stupid considering how much loving health the Walkers have. Basically one team is playing TDM and one team is playing conquest. That's not a good idea.

I'd probably have a better opinion if Hoth was just a very poorly designed map but DICE isn't really worthy of benefit of the doubt anymore.

The gameplay is pretty fun I actually like that it's more similar to UT than another peek and shoot BF. The UI is atrocious, things like the mini map or a powerup pick up taking up three quarters of the screen are terrible decisions.

Every single time I've tried to hook the one closer to the cliff if it's still in the canyon I eat wall. It doesn't happen with the other walker or if it's moved past the cliff face.

The Awing is the more maneuverable of the two rebel fighters. The Tie Fighter is the more of the two Imperial. That last part is backwards.

The balance is supposed to be that the TIEs don't have a shield but it doesn't matter because you'll never get behind one in any of the rebel ships.

Things they could do:

1. Caps interrupt ywings not start them over.
2. Imperials can't use the turrets or change their angle of fire.
3. Lower the walkers health or adjust how much damage certain weapons do to them. The Radar Dish guns do 2 percent damage per shot and you are incredibly vulnerable in them.

Fun fact you can get a maximum of 2-3 ywings on the second point by holding them the entire time. It's an incredibly short phase. I actually like the game but Hoth is an unbalanced mess.

So to anyone who is crazy enough to think Hoth is good balance I present you the following counterpoints!

1. The cliff ATAT on the final point cannot be towcabled unless it makes it past the cliff. It only makes it past the cliff if you get enough Ywings on the last point. I have tried this multiple times with the little snow speeder right smack dab in the middle of the QTE.
2. Tie interceptors take no damage from snow speeder cannons. Tested this with a friend to make sure I wasn't missing.
3. Getting shot once while in the tow cable QTE immediately throws the QTE in one direction or the other. Dunno if it's recoverable once the bar narrows.
4. The ATAT tokens are less than a minute for respawn.

Throwing it off is fine making it an instant fail is not. Especially since getting the speeder requires the rebels to run into either the open field or the middle of the map. Both of which can be covered by ATAT fire. There is also a good gap between the CD for it's radar cloak and it's uptime. Fire a torpedo during this or get good and just dumbfire the interceptors cannons. Not like it can actually dogfight you!

You really seem to want it to be a one way steam roll.

I don't think any of the Battlefront games have managed to capture what Hoth is supposed to feel like. Because it's a one sided massacre. You can't really capture the desperation in a shootmans multiplayer video game.
