I like Buffalo Trace as well, I pick up a couple bottles whenever I'm in the States. Sucks Canada doesn't make any bourbon, its expensive as gently caress to buy imported US bourbon up here.

Canada does make a brown that was the most godawful thing I ever tasted.

E: Ah, Lord Calvert

I've never seen or heard of this stuff. BC liquor store website says they don't carry it either.

I've never heard of it either however they sell Bulleitt so I'm good

Sometimes I get Bulleit and sometimes I cheap out and grab Four Roses or something (Still like 26 bucks). Mostly I just sit patiently and wait for an excuse to spend the weekend in Washington so I can get that sweet Buffalo Trace.

If it was good about for Thompson it should be good enough for anybody.

1) Purchase low grade alcohol
2) Purchase Britta Filter Pitcher
3) Run low grade alcohol through pitcher
3b) Use Erlehmeyer Flask, Kjeldahl Bulb, and Graham Condenser to further distill/heat filter liquor. A separate vacuum flask can be purchased for further filtration.
4) Lower alcohols temperature with dry ice
5) Filter again (Using either vacuum flask or britta filter)
6) Consume alcohol

This is how we made rot gut class 6 bottom shelf booze taste a little better.

Couldn't you spend another $5-$10 for a better liquor and save yourself the time, equipment and knowledge on how to do that? How long did that filtration process take you grunts to complete?

Buffalo Trace should be around $23 for a 750. It's pretty hard to get right now as there's a shortage, though.

Old Forester Signature for the same price is just as good and readily available

But its $40 bucks for 750 ml as soon as you cross the border. British Columbia hates its citizens and wants them to be poor.

Bulleit is like $24 and its smooth but otherwise flavorless.

Not everyone lives where this is true. Treasure the fact that you do.

Buffalo Trace only uses three-ish mash bills for all their bourbons. All the magic that distinguishes the good stuff from the cheapo happens in the rickhouse.

I'm sorry, what does this mean?

Barreling and aging are what count son.

Buffalo Trace is garbage for the price. Tastes like pennies and pit sweat.

Drink fuckin Booker's if you're gonna go for a beam/suntory brand. 120 proof or bust

Buffalo tastes a lot better than the cheap/affordable brands that come to Canadaland (JB, 4 roses, wild turkey). What is a better bourbon for $25-$30 a bottle that I can pick up when I visit your fine country?
