I grew up in NJ and moved to the country 2 years ago, A+ would recommend I can just go out back and drink and shoot the empties with whichever gun I have in hand. Way more fun than shooting at THE BLACKS up north

owning a large amount of land is cool and fun because its like your own little kingdom and you can just roam around the hills and woods and streams and poo poo and reflect on how you are the lord of all you survey

the highest point on my property is one of the tallest hills in the valley and i like to go up there with a cooler of beer and some smokes and just enjoy the view. the best is in sprng/smmer when a thunderstorm is rolling in and i can watch it approach from miles away as it rolls over the landscape im gonna put a big flagpole up there with a fuckoff huge flag that everyone will be able to see for miles around cant decide what flag though, im leaning toward the welsh one with the big red dragon

The place I grew up used to be country but it got eaten by DC sprawl in the last five years and now every time I go back I'll pick up the local paper and there's been a gang shooting at an address that was a cow pasture the last time I was there all told it's an improvement although I do miss the badass old farmhouses and taking hikes through like the whole villages that just got abandoned at some point. you do a lot of hiking when you're poor as poo poo and live in the middle of nowhere ghetto wormhole posted:checking in Toby Keith can go gently caress himself but if you whine about Johnny Cash or Willie Nelson you're just one boring motherfucker Skynyrd and DBT there may be room for reasoned debate on

I miss the free range local farms. And the sweet corn stands (aka pickup trucks with a painted wooden sign) on the side of the highway in August. And never having to call a repairman for anything because SOMEONE in your town of <1000 people could fix it for a couple beers and dinner. Oh I should add that I don't miss the meth labs you found in the middle of the woods and ran like hell from when you heard a warning shot.

I grew up in the boonies of the rural south. Now I live in some poo poo city in the desert. I don't miss home in particular, but I get nostalgic for how pretty the fields used to be when the growing seasons were in full swing. Also the sound of cicadas going nuts and summer thunderstorms. I miss the color green. Not the lovely yellow-green they have here, I mean like a proper lush green. Doesn't mean I wanna go back, lol, the south sucks Hometown Slime Queen fucked around with this message at 07:36 on May 8, 2015 |
