I'm warming to the show but the payoffs to the 3 plots in this episode just felt underdeveloped to me, the Miss Piggy plot especially. If she'd tried a whole series of failed pranks against Applegate that got progressively more elaborate and failed even worse each time that would've been gold but one dumb prank that fizzled felt like a missed opportunity. The Gonzo internet dating plot also had promise but took the first obvious exit. Gonzo was always the guy who had the most bizarre ideas which failed spectacularly but after the initial set up it all felt rather mundane. The Fozzy plot also felt undercooked. I dunno, maybe they should have had just an A and a B plot which they could have fleshed out more (and crossed over) rather than cram in 3 unrelated plots? Edit: I guess they might have only had access to their guest stars for super short periods, perhaps??? Snowglobe of Doom fucked around with this message at 16:42 on Oct 7, 2015 |

FetusSlapper posted:Thanks, as much as I loved the muppet movies/70's tv show as a kid, I never really watched the 80s or 90's tv shows much. I've seen most of the new muppets on the music video type things they've released on youtube(which are all awesome) but I don't really know anything about them. Yeah he was one of the new Muppets that appeared in the 90s so I had to look him up as well. He had a quick cameo in the Bohemian Rhapsody video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgbNymZ7vqY

Those last two episodes were The Good poo poo. I was struggling to get on board before now but I'm so glad I stuck with it.

He jumped, missed the pool and smashed into the ground, everyone gasped in horror but he immediately leaped back to his feet and yelled "Bullseye!!" and everyone laughed. So far in the 'reboot' they've made moves to wind back the 'Kermit has a new girlfriend and has mostly moved past Piggy' and 'Gonzo is separated from Camilla' storylines, I wonder if they'll wind back Fozzy's relationship next.

raditts posted:It's also continuing to suffer from the new stable wanting to write in as many obscure Muppets as possible, because Robin, really? Robin's appeared in 30 episodes of the original 70 Muppet Show (exactly 25%, over all 5 seasons) , a whole bunch of the movies (including the two most recent ones) and a whole bunch of TV specials and even had his own Playstation game. He's hardly obscure.
