Things are pretty rad and all (I'm on chapter three) but I've got a question: You're basically required to do Temp Plus part 1 before Elmo is required. Elmo locks out pretty much everything for reasons. In SC news, I accidentally triggered the Chap 8 end before I could do the Grancel monsters. Not going back though, Zeiss's hidden was so mind-numbing, even with Cloak, that I don't want to have to do it again for a while. Plus I missed some early stuff. If you have Agate, Gladiator Headband + AT Delay + Action 2 = worm that can never take a turn, at least until Agate runs out of CP. By then it's probably dead.

I'm taking a slight breather before the very end and I'll try that setup for the final final stuff. I managed to squeeze out Zodiac on Kevin while still retaining Action/Cast. Onyx Gem, Attack 4, Wood Gem, Gold Gem, Defense 4, Mind 4, with Cast 2 in the other line gets it. It also happens to pick up Lost Mobius, which is probably the best AOE attack spell if you can get past its 100 base cost. Despite it saying Area (M), it has a larger area than White Gehenna by default (though not quite Aero Storm level), and I think it also has better damage. What it does also do is pull all the enemies to the center of the AOE, letting you hit them with smaller area things. Cyouni fucked around with this message at 19:23 on Nov 18, 2015 |

Stabbey_the_Clown posted:Hmmm... so is it a turn-thing? If you survive for X turns you get a draw? I just tried it again and I think I got the cutscene faster even though no one had died. Can someone explain it clearly? From how I gather, it's a time based thing, not turn based. Barrage is bad for that given I think victory only triggers when Estelle gets a turn again, and last-turn Barrage can mess that up. Try Aerial instead of White Gehenna, and use food to heal and stat boost, if you have some lying around. Also burn your attack food. Basically you want the fastest attacks, even if damage is somewhat compromised as a result.

Man, Double Cracker is kinda bullshit. Two enemies that have no apparent cooldown for it, and it's pretty much an instant kill on anyone it hits. Only way around it seems to be S-Crafting one of them until they drop so that you can manage their damage again.

Really Pants posted:If you're talking about the Chapter 3 practical, it sounds like your DEF is too low. Were you able to get new armor and boots for your group back in Bareahard? Assuming you mean the Chapter 2 field study, wasn't able to due to being very short on money (heard about the omelet trick, will have to pull it off next time I get Elliot). Don't think it would have saved anyone except Rean, and don't think that would have helped even him if they turned on Howl beforehand. They're doing ~1600x2 to me unbuffed, ~2100x2 with Howl. Jusis, for example, only has around ~2200 HP. I did just end up S-Crafting one of them away, though they both dropped a final Double Cracker just to say "screw you" one last time before Burn damage dropped one. I'm very happy whoever translated and original wrote this game both knew what they were doing. Not sure what level you're at, but my favoured strategy in that fight was Millium/Rean/Alisa/Emma. Alisa keeps Rean+Millium+Emma supplied with CP and healed, and Emma keeps Alisa mostly supplied with CP and healed. An Impassion on Alisa at times also helped. 200 CP S-Crafts from Millium and Rean took care of the rest, especially for nice Overkill/Triple Kill bonuses. Ending XP multiplier on that fight was 4.2x.

Crabtree posted:Must be the game punishing me for trying to load back and try to rack up some victories on an inconsequential card game that loves to dick you over in draws. It would just crash several times trying to start up a card battle specifically after going back to a previous load before the match, but the hard crashes to the vita screen would stop after a few minutes. I'll just eat some bullshit losses for those 50 friend points now. The trick to that is that you talk to them before challenging them again. For some reason or another, it unbreaks it.

If you haven't done that, it won't trigger. Disclaimer: Some steps may not be necessary.

Man, either I'm just too low level or this floor 5 boss is stupid as all hell, because I can't seem to beat it. Its AOE damage coupled with its speed and overall health makes it absurdly hard to outlast, combined with its absurd defense levels making it hard to kill physically. This is a massive step up from Chap 4 field study's boss, or maybe I just relied on Elliot's hilariously good healing too much then.

Rean tossed speed buffs and then spent his time trying to S-Craft over and over, Elliot spammed Holy Song with Gladiator Belt, Emma dropped Cross Crusade/Crescent Shell/Holy Breath as Elliot backup, and Jusis used Noble Command to keep attack up before Dark Matter/Breath as Emma backup. It took some luck, but it worked. Still ridiculous as hell.

Don't even need to find them in chapter 3, as I found a sum total of 2 fishing spots on field studies (chapters 5 and 6) and still got all 20 fish varieties. SpaceDrake posted:So I still don't get where that even comes from. Unless my memory is failing me completely, Zane is part of the "Taito" school, which should mean something like "Great Authority". Right here is a typo on top of a mistranslation, but I still don't know where "Calm Dip Flow" even comes from - I don't recall seeing, or Robin mentioning, anything remotely like it. A quick check of the kanji that make it up (泰斗流) tells me that if you take it piecemeal, you can get something to the effect of "Calm Dip Flow". Everything after that is a typo. For this, you're required to ignore the meaning of 'Taito' and break it into its components, and misread 'school/style' as 'flow' when you're referring to a martial art. TL;DR: Bad translations.

He's craft-y like Agate but drops some of Agate's blunt murderpower for more variety. His pull craft is good for positioning, for example. However, there's nothing standout he does (apart from Righteous Witness) that really makes you want to drop Agate for him. Julia has both decent caster power and physical strength. Pretty sure she outdoes Kevin in both, especially with the ability to wear the female-only ATS gear. Her crafts are kinda bad though, with only single-target Impede and 50 CP Earth Guard. I did manage to pick up Lost Mobius on her, along with Onyx Gem and Cast 2, so I just used her as a caster, with the ability to hit things as backup.
