honestly i think that in the general historical consciousness the russians and chinese probably deserve more credit than they have traditionally gotten in the world wars but at the same time there are historical hipsters that just flip the entire thing around and suddenly they both single-handedly won the war by themselves with capitalist westerners just hanging onto their coattails

was some show on WWII this morning called "WWII in Space", it used graphics akin to CIV or Risk to hammer basic points home into my alcohol damaged brain. was pretty neat, I'd highly recommend it.
