Since Drouin isn't currently playing for Tampa, it makes it easier for them to deal with trading him either for pure futures or for a mix of futures and supplementary pieces to help them through the end of the regular season. since hes not currently playing and hasnt played enough to accure a pro season if hes suspended the rest of the year he has 6 rfa years left after this instead of 5 too. apparently.

Oilers needed to improve their bottom 6, trading Gernat doesn't hurt as we have a ton of other LHD prospects, and a 4th's a 4th. gernat is a bit prospect who wasn't making the oilers and maroon is 27 signed for two more years at $2. seems like a good buy low deal
