Hello injuries. Habs may overtake Edmonton tonight.

I feel like the Leafs should have a big ol' asterisk on this graphy chart.

Sparks is kinda trash. I know goalies take longer to develop but his only positive characteristic seems to be that he's somewhat big.

He probably has an okay career ahead of him as a journeyman backup. He's an RFA this year so I wouldn't at all be surprised if the Leafs either let him walk or only bring him back on a 100% buryable contract.

They should have manpower suspensions for the malicious poo poo Keith and Kadri did.

Leafs only get to suit up 11 forwards (do they have that many?) and Chicago 5 defensemen.

Well the Leafs are replacing Kadri with Clune so it might not be official but you're more or less getting this.

Florida is a bad team in a bad division that had a whole lot of luck.

The Panthers are good now because they added a bunch of dudes at the deadline specifically to improve the possession play of their depth.

Since the trade deadline, at 5v5:

one of these things is quite noticeably not like the others

Good job to Detroit for posting nearly the same goal differential as the Leafs.

I posted this question a while ago but I want to double check.

I'm going to Europe (Amsterdam, Prague, and Budapest) during part of the first and second round of the playoffs and I want to be able to watch the games in the middle of the night there if I choose to.

What's the best way of doing this? Will NHL.tv show the games since I am out of the US/Canada? Officially they list broadcast partners that show the games in the countries I am visiting but I've heard the games aren't actually blacked out in practice. Anyone know if this is true?

Is there any better option? I know NHL.tv sucks but it seems like the best option.

I go to the NHL streams subreddit and look for someone streaming over youtube.

I don't think I ended up goldmining it because I think there wasn't all that much in the thread itself.

Also I was watching online and chatting with a friend and when Kadri scored I said "holy poo poo, they're actually going to do it" so I claim at least partial responsibility for the loss.

Leafs-Habs April 7, 2007. Game 82. Entering the game, Montreal was 8th and Toronto was 9th. The game was emblematic of that era, with a largely very good Leafs team trying to outrace Andrew Raycroft's terrible goaltending. The Leafs pulled ahead 6-5 early in the 3rd and held on for dear life and the win.

Then the next day the Devils half-assed the shootout and NYI stole 8th behind Wade loving Dubeliewicz.

I agree, please remind me of that when the Oilers win again and I start crowing about dramatic change.

That the Oilers keep picking first and continue to be the pits is evidence that the system is a good one. I actually think that the systems from last year and previous are better, but this year's is probably going to be pretty fun.

The Oilers getting so many 1st overalls is just an improbable statistical anomaly, there's not a lot wrong with the lottery system itself. This year is also way more prohibitive to bottom place finishers than in years past and we haven't even seen the results, the sentiment that we have to change it already because the Oilers are bad again is misplaced imo.

That the Oilers are last again suggests that building a winning team requires more than clumsily acquiring top picks. The system works.

That was a good weekend to be away from the forums.

I see that someone has made an explicitly eliminated teams thread, so I guess I'll close this one tomorrow morning and someone can start a Round 1 N/V thread.
