Not that Westworld was bad or anything but it's kinda hoopty doopty stupid "look at how smart I am and poo poo" with the timelines and "what is consciousness" and all that poo poo and it's just a bunch of couscous. A scene like this gets straight to the point in it's declaration of the character's character in a far more effective manner than anything Westworld tried to do. MIB was supposed to be the dickshit badass give no gently caress character but he was chickenshit compared to Schwearengen. Westworld is good so far, but Deadwood was awesome because problems were regularly solved with old-timey Shakespearean monologues followed by fistfights, instead of just plot twist after twist.

I always thought Wild Bill was a dick for leading Calamity Jane on as much as he did. Deadwood was way better than Westworld, though. Ian McShane was great.
