I was just eligible to vote for obama and nearly did, because i got excited when i listened to him talk, but then i really looked at his record, and what people on LF were saying, and i stayed my hand, mostly because if he ended up being lame as gently caress, I didn't want to feel like I had even done something as meaningless as cast a vote for him.

I had just turned 18 and was way more worried about the collapsing economy and my family's own crumbling financial situation than I was about Obama. I completely missed the Obama fever due to this. I did not vote in 2008 but unfortunately I voted in 2012 and 2016, for Obama and Hillary

 I threw my first vote away voting third party. Mainly because the district was going to be won by the CSU anyway and because I've known the guy personally and thought he was an actual good person. My second vote went to the Greens because Social Democrats in Bavaria are even more useless than in the rest of the country.
