Up against somebody like Donnarumma it's a miracle anybody scores at all.

It was pretty crazy. The keeper called it at the start too "I'd be surprised if you scored 5 combined".

They score all ten penalties and he only gets near a couple.

lol penalties are intensely studied and subject to all sorts of training and analysis some players are better than others. traditionally, when these tried to teach other players how to do penalties, they failed completely because what works for one guy doesn't for the next. most of the training is, like, psychological conditioning and helping people find their style, but even so iirc you see the hit rate go down as the stakes go up. apparently the very hardest penalty to take (i.e. the one with the highest miss rate) is penalty number eight, and if you have to score to stay in it you're dramatically more likely to miss
