I set up rgb LED strips under my eaves, they are invisible when they are off, and I can change the colors depending on the holiday without ever taking them down. It has been great for the 2 years they have been up.

My outdoor lights are configurable to different colors so I just change them to what is appropriate for each holiday and leave them white otherwise.
